Passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 8th, 2016 at Reachview Village Nursing Home, Uxbridge with family at her bedside at the age of 78. Freda will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 59 years, Henry. Loving mother to Debbie and Jeff (Tracey) and devoted grandmother to her grandchildren. Freda is also survived by her sisters; Gwen, Bonnie and Marlene as well as her brothers; Joe, Len, David and John. Predeceased by her grandson Andrew, younger brother Stephen and sister Barbara. Freda will also be sadly missed by many family, friends and neighbours. Cremation has taken place and in keeping with Freda’s wishes, there will be no service. Freeman Howard Aamon Currie
(August 4, 1943- February 18, 2016) -Surrounded by loved ones, Freeman Howard Aamon Currie, 72 years old passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 18, 2016 at Lakeridge Health Oshawa after a lengthy fight with cancer. Born in Saint John, New Brunswick on August 4, 1943. Freeman worked at the Provincial Hospital in Saint John, NB for many years prior to moving to Ontario. He worked at Offset Print and Litho before entering the health care field. He retired from St. Michael’s Hospital, Toronto, ON.Predeceased by his parents Dorothy (nee McLean) and Walter, and his brother Walter.Survived by his spouse Colleen Currie (Campbell) and his greatest joys in his life, his children Russell (London, ON), Christopher (Phoenix, AZ), Troy (Sherry) (Pickering, ON) and Cathy (Shawn) (Ajax, ON). He will be greatly missed by his grandchildren Jodi, Lindsey, Lex, Cooper, Michael, Candace, Madison and Kayla, and his great-grandchildren Brayden and Ryleigh. Loved by his brother Harry (Toronto, ON) and sisters Helen and Eva Currie (Saint John, NB) and his nephew Eddie.In keeping with his wishes, there will be no public visitation. It is with great sadness, after 88 wonderful years, we announce Mom's peaceful passing at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville on Wednesday, February 10, 2016.Frances was born May 19, 1927 to the late Denis and Frances Neville. She was the treasured wife of the late Lorne McKenny.Loving and cherished mother of Larry McKenny (Natalie) of North Carolina and Annette Neufeld (Myke) of Oshawa. Beloved Grandmother of Rick; Sean; Anne and Aidan McKenny; and Andrew Neufeld.She leaves behind her sister Mary Cassidy (late Fergus) of Stoco; Sheila Cassidy (late Tom) of Stoco; and Margaret Powers (Pat) of Napanee.She was predeceased by her brother John Neville (Joan of Peterborough); Joe; Theresa Forman (late Ted); and Helen McGurn (late Al). Sister-in-law of Anna Corrigan (late Bernard); Mary Corrigan (Pat); Helen Hanley (Buzz); Bernice Corrigan (Frank); Don McKenny (late Jean); Jim McKenny (Marina); and the late Margaret McGuiness (late Ed); Leo McKenny (Marian); and Vince McKenny (late Eileen).She will be missed and will remain in the hearts of her many nieces, nephews and friends. Frances was a life-long member of the CWL, a former Secretary of the Assumption Parish Cemetery Board, Tamworth Senior Club and the Retired Teachers Association. She had a very successful career as a teacher with the Durham Roman Catholic School Board and will forever be emembered by the many children and families whose lives she touched.She lived her life to the fullest and enjoyed many trips and adventures with both family and friends during her retirement years.
