It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Gerald on July 12, 2021 at the age of 84 in the Lakeridge Oshawa Hospital palliative care for his health complications with cancer, heart and dementia.

Loving husband and Best friend of Betty Gibbs for over 61 years.

Much loved Dad of Raymond Gibbs and Shelley Sweeting and her husband Darrin Sweeting.

Grandfather of Tyler Sweeting and Jessica Mathieu.

Gerald worked most of his career with General Motors, and was a loyal, loving husband and father and always there to help family and friends.

He was the rock and hero of our family!! He will be remembered and missed by his family, friends and all of those who knew him.

With Gerald’s wishes, we had a small family service on July 13, 2021.

In her 79th year, of Trent Hills, Ontario, passed away on July 2nd, 2021, at Northumberland Hills Hospital, after suffering over 15 years with Alzheimer’s disease.

“Glady” (as she was affectionately known) was born in the family home in Conception Bay South, Newfoundland to William Gordon Dawe and Eliza Ann (Smith) Dawe on August 18th, 1942.

The family later moved to Kelligrews where she attended St. Edward’s School.

Following this, she attended Queen Elizabeth High School in Foxtrap. It was at the Foxtrap, All Saints Anglican Church where Gladys unknowingly caught the eye of her husband, Henry Winston Bussey.

They married on May 16th, 1964, at St. Mary the Virgin Anglican Church in St. John’s.

Dear sister of, Daphne (Bill); Harold; and Heather (late Gerald); predeceased by Bill (Marie), Fred (Gretchen), Evelyn, Helen (Bob), Doris (Murph), Don (Bertha), Jim (Cherry), Gordon, Arthur (Daphne), and Lawrence. Dear sister-in-law of Marina (late Joseph), Amy (Eric), Ella (Fred), Gladys (Donald), Wallace (Annie), Peter (Diane), and Wayne (Margo). Lovingly remembered by many other extended family members and friends.

Always a loving, caring and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother; Gladys is grievously missed by her equally loving, caring and devoted husband Winston; her four children, Barry (LaVonna), Gregory (Karen), Rodney (Delise), Barbara (Ricardo); her nine grandchildren, Carmelle (Michael), Adam (Malissa), Seth (Cara), Taylor (Matt), Aaron, Liam, Landon, Nylia, and Miscily; her five great-grandchildren, Arianne, Jackson, Westley, Cosette, and Abigail.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gertrud Olga Stenz (nee Ouoos) on June 27th 2021, with her family by her side.

Gertrud came to Canada in 1955, with a career in nursing.

She met and married Peter in 1958, and remained his loving wife for over 62 years.

Adored Mother to Michael (Dara) and Angelika (Andrew).

Proud and cherished Oma to Eric Stenz.

Daughter of the Late Karl and Olga Quoos, of Konigsberg, Prussia.

Predeceased by her brothers, George and Willi Quoos.

She will be lovingly remembered by her nephew Axel Quoos.

Gertrud wholeheartedly loved her family and friends.

She welcomed everyone into her home with open arms, and a story or two.

No one ever left hungry and with her sense of humour, no one every left without a smile.

She fed any and all animals, wild and domestic.

She would spend hours watching the birds, squirrels and sometimes fostering raccoons.

She loved to swim, and was always the first one in the pool in the spring.

She loved flowers and plants, and would spend hours in the garden. Gertrud loved to dance and was a social butterfly during her many years as a member of Club Loreley.

She especially enjoyed being an active participant in the Woman’s Auxiliary Group, as well as the Choir.

Gertrud will be missed by her extended family and friends in Canada and Germany.
