Her sheer determination, inner strength and tenacity allowed her to battle on, through COVID-19 Pandemic. Throughout all of this her sense of humour never waivered and neither did her dedication to her family. She truly lived on for them.The family wishes to extend its sincere gratitude to the compassionate staff of Strathaven for care and professionalism shown to Betty and her family. Special thanks go to Pauline for her never-ending support and love towards Mom. She was surrounded by loved ones and her very best four-legged companion and friend, Freddy.Ellen Jones was dearly loved and will be missed by her two children Chris (Allison) Schierholtz Pembroke; and Katie Schierholtz Peterborough.She was a proud grandmother to Chloe, a beloved daughter to Barbara (nee Goodman) and the late Llyod Jones, and the dear sister to Steve Jones and Laurien Jones.Ellen was a highly respected member of her church community and worked as a social worker in Durham Region for over 20 years where she touched many lives.Her dedication to her job inspired Katie to follow a similar path helping the youth of the community by becoming a Mental Health Nurse.
