Chrisoula Tymbos

The family of Chrisoula Tymbos of Ajax is saddened to announce her passing on Saturday, February 20, 2021 at the age of 85.

She will be lovingly remembered by her children: Antonia (Kypros) and Helen (Peter); grandchildren: Dimitra (Louie), Christina, Chryso (Alexi), Alexandra (Eric), Adrianna (Dylan) and Christina (Jake); great-grandchildren: Antonia, George, Giorgos, Kyprianos, Cypriana, Ioanna and Eirini, as well as numerous relatives and friends.

She was predeceased by her loving husband of 38 years (Christos).

Chrisoula was born in 1935 in Goumenissa, Greece.

In 1955 she married her husband Christos, who was the love of her life, and they went on to have two daughters – Antonia and Helen.

Chrisoula loved to entertain friends and family with her delicious cooking. Non-Greek speakers were initiated by learning their first Greek phrase “ela na fas” which means “come and eat”.

She was the best hostess and took pride in cooking enough food to feed a village. Chrisoula spent much of her time knitting blankets and ponchos for family and friends. Her home was always open to those who needed a place to stay and she always gave the best advice.

She was the epitome of kindness, generosity and love.

She will be greatly missed and never forgotten because she loved fiercely and was equally loved in return.

May her memory be eternal.

Because of Covid-19, the Visitation and Funeral Service are Private by invitation only through the family. Thank you.

Memorial donations to the Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital would be appreciated by the family.

Claude Wilson

Claude Wilson

Listed in

Passed peacefully at Westshore Village in Port Perry on Sunday, February 7, 2021.

Claude was born in Welland, Ontario in 1931. The son of the last Police Chief of the Welland Police force, Fred Wilson.

Claude thrived in Welland of the 30’s and 40’s.

He was a proud founding member of the Theta Upsilon Omega Fraternity, which was started in 1946 at Welland Vocational High School.

This group became a life-long fellowship that continues with three surviving members. In Claude’s early twenties he learned to pilot Piper Cubs, Seabees and Cessna aircraft and would fly privately for a decade.

Most importantly, Claude married his high school sweetheart, Marie (nee Button) in 1954 and they were married for 67 years.

Throughout their marriage, Claude pursued a variety of careers in automobile sales and leasing. He started his sales career with Ford and would eventually own a Ford dealership in Galt in the mid 60’s.

Throughout the 70’s and 80’s, leading up to his retirement in 1991, he held senior positions with Tilden, Hertz and retired as Vice President of Leasing at Noranda Mines in Toronto.

Claude’ s career moves would result in moving the family ten times in a twenty-five-year period, across Ontario and Quebec, before retiring in Stroud, Ontario.

In 2015 Claude and Marie moved to Port Perry to be near his son David, his wife Dawn (nee Kelly) and three of his five grandchildren.

In Port Perry, Claude was a hit with young and old alike as he recited ‘Twas a Night before Christmas’ at Christmas Eve family and friend gatherings for almost three decades.

During the past five years Claude’s biggest health challenge was living with progressive dementia.

It takes a special team to help someone live with this illness and his family want to thank the staff at Westshore, past and present, and Dr. Curtis Hadden for their care and guidance.

Claude is survived by his wife Marie, his brother Jim, his two children David (Dawn), Debra Murphy (Joe) and his five grandchildren Jennifer Rennie (Jason), Kelly Ritcey (Adam), Lindsay Wilson (Bryan), Jessica Wilson (Cody) and Kaitlin Wilson as well as his seven great-grandchildren, Cole, Quinn, Everett, Emily, Olivia, Adeline, and Wren.

Arrangements entrusted with THORNTON FUNERAL CENTRE .

Until then, stay safe and be kind.

(December 6, 1962 - February 6, 2021)

(age 58) It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Cynthia “Cindy” Ott on Saturday, February 6th, 2021.

She died at home after a lengthy battle with brain cancer, in the tender care of Dick, her husband of 38 years.

In her final days she was surrounded by her children, Loretta (Mike) and Chance (Michelle), and her grandchildren (Seth, Harper and Paul).

Cindy was predeceased by her father, William Carroll. She also leaves behind her mother, Donalda, her sister, Kim (Howard).

She will be sorely missed by all of her family, including her dear siblings-in-law (Jack & Bev, Regina & Al, Tom and Ruth, and Julia & Werner), her father-in-law (Rolf), and numerous nieces and nephews.

Cindy was always full of humour and light. She radiated kindness and blessed many with her servant-heart. Always a humble spirit, it is little known that she was the “brains” behind the success of the business she helped build with Dick over the years.

Her faith was the cornerstone of her life.

Among the proudest moments for her, that she reflected on in her final days, were the numerous people she had the privilege of leading to the Lord throughout her life.

She was not afraid of dying and welcomed the opportunity to use her life as a witness for others.
