Cherished son of Mel and Susan (Dean).

Beloved brother of Anika.

Adored nephew of Sabina (Orest), Paul, Heidi (Brenda), Richard (Linda), Jeannie (Bruce).

Respected cousin of Andrew, Andrian, Meika (Justin), Kayla(Dan), Shawn, Chantal, Johnny, Joshua, and Caleb.

Marcus will also be dearly missed by his generously large extended family and many loyal friends.

Marcus had a passion for World War II history and memorabilia.

He was devoted to his creative writing, crafting model tanks and activity scenes,and his relationship's with the online gaming community.

We like to extend an extraordinary “Thank-you” to the Emergency services of Lake Ridge Health Hospital and services of ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME for his cremation.

Mildred passed away peacefully on January 20, 2023, at the age of 77.

She was born in Motherwell, Scotland on May 17, 1945, and emigrated to Canada in 1968.

Mildred is survived by her husband of 34 years and her children Robert Smith (Suzy), Darren Smith, and grandchildren Evan, Ethan, Nathan, and Sarah.

Predeceased by her father John McNeil Lang and mother Grace Lang (nee Young).

Mildred lived in many places after coming to Canada, including Toronto, Georgetown, and Huntsville, prior to settling in Whitby where she resided for most of her life. Mildred loved to spend time with her family, husband, children, and grandchildren.

She was involved with her many sororities in each of the cities she lived in over the years. Mildred’s bubbly personality was infectious to the point that her joyful laugh would light up a room.

She could talk to any stranger and make them an immediate friend; she was artful in getting people to tell their stories and enjoyed listening intently. Mildred spent most of her professional career supporting physicians as an office administrator in their private practices where she was able to use her wonderful capacity for empathy in peoples’ personal care.

She enjoyed baking delightful treats from Scotland which her family and many friends couldn’t wait to sample.

She was a fearless soul who taught her sons what it meant to be courageous – Mildred would never back down in the face of adversity and was always willing to defend her family.

She enjoyed going to the Highland Games and listening to the pipes, watching the heavy games and the festive dancing.

Mildred will be missed by her family and the many friends who loved her.

On Friday, January 13, 2023 Muriel Mary McDonald passed away at the age of 96 with her family at her side.

She has found peace and moved on to her final resting place.

Muriel was born on Calumet Island, Quebec and grew up in Campbells Bay.

She moved to the Ottawa area where she met and married her husband Ross McDonald and started a family.

They then relocated to the Toronto area, where they spent the remainder of their lives.

Muriel spent most of her work career at Inglis/Whirlpool where she retired at 65 as National Manager of Office Services.

She will be sadly missed by her many friends and family.

Muriel was predeceased by her husband of 52 years and 7 brothers and sisters. She is lovingly remembered by her children Joanne (Vilnis) Butkevics, Judith McDonald, Joe (Robin) McDonald and her 2 grandchildren, Madyson and AJ.

Many thanks to the amazing staff at Fairview Lodge in Whitby where she had resided for the last two and a half years.

Visitation will take place at W.C. TOWN FUNERAL CHAPEL, 110 Dundas Street East, Whitby on Friday January 20th at noon followed by a Funeral Mass at 2 pm at St. John The Evangelist Catholic Church, 903 Giffard St, Whitby Ontario.

Great aunt to eleven great nieces and nephews. Maria was passionate about life, her family, the students throughout her career and her beloved garden.

Always providing loving support and direction, she embraced every challenge given, embracing it with determination and courage, an unmatched resolve in seeing it through to the end.

There are no words to describe our grief in the loss of this most beloved sister.

Cherished grandmother of Christopher, Dominic, Tristan, Marcus and Ashton, sister to Margaret, Gloria, Jordy, Mary, Victoria, Gregory and Carol, also known as Aunty Grandma to Shron, David and Deeana, Aunt to her many nieces and nephews.

Alongside her husband, she worked diligently to build a wonderful life for her family here in Canada.

She was brave, compassionate, determined and her charisma defined her. Marlene loved to entertain family and friends with her hospitality and extravagant meals. Spending time with her grandchildren and travelling with Omadath by her side.

There’s so much more about her that words cannot describe! Her infectious smile, contagious laughter, dedication, generosity and elegance will be greatly missed by her family and friends. The family appreciates all your prayers, love and support during this difficult time.

A closed casket visitation for Marlene will be held Sunday January 15th, 2023 from 12:30pm-2:00pm, the funeral service will be at 2:00pm followed by a reception at the OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME 847 King Street West, Oshawa, Ontario.

Martin was born in Waiblingen Germany, he grew up in in West Rouge and spent his adult years in the Oshawa/ Whitby area.

He was a proud retired GM tool and die maker.
