Went to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 12, 2020 at the age of 87.Elsie was born in Bracebridge, Ontario on November 11, 1932 to Angus Green and Muriel (nee Eheler). Elsie was the beloved wife of the late Michael Valentino and a beautiful blessing and inspiration to her children; Christine Valentino, Sandy Michel (Paul), Michele Valentino and the late Steven Valentino.She was the cherished Grandmother of Jason, Janice (Marc), Carly and Jesse. Loving great Grandmother of Dylan and Dayna and great-great Grandmother of Caleb.Elsie was predeceased by her parents and her eleven siblings: Gordon, Walter, Albert, Ada, Stanley, Dora, Trudy, Delbert, Neil, Edward and Edna. Elsie was a published poet, recorded singer/songwriter, she loved to play her guitar and hosted many family sing alongs. She enjoyed attending church and teaching Sunday school.Elsie was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 419.A private family graveside service was held at the Prince Albert Pine Grove Cemetery, officiated by Pastor Léon Van Weerden of the Embassy Church, Oshawa.A Celebration of Life for our precious Elsie will be held at a later date.Elsie loved the concerts and activities at Hillsdale Terraces where she resided and in her memory, donations may be made by cheque payable to The Region of Durham (earmarked: Hillsdale Terraces Recreation Dept.).Heartfelt thanks to all of the Staff at Hillsdale Terraces for their loving and compassionate care.

(March 18, 1940 – April 8, 2020) - Passed away suddenly at his home in Barrie, ON on Wednesday, April 8, 2020, in his 81st year.Loving husband to the late June Bonner for 42 years. Edwin was a truck driver for many years, something he loved to do.He is survived by his children, step-children and their spouses, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.Ted is also survived by his sister Shirley Howard, and brother Wayne Bonner both from Peterborough. Predeceased by his sister Anne and brothers Paul, Raymond, Bob and Eric.He will be missed by his many friends at his apartment building.Due to COVID-19, the family is sorry that only immediate family members will be having a private visitation at W.C. TOWN FUNERAL CHAPEL, Whitby. Burial will be held at Mount Lawn Cemetery.Donations in Memory of Ted may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie.

(December 20, 1937- March 23, 2020) Died peacefully at Markham Stouffville Hospital with her daughter by her side, after a courageous journey with dementia.Predeceased by her first husband and father of her three children, Robert Andrew Dods. Predeceased only two months prior by her partner, Jonathon Shore.Mother of Steven Dods (Susan Hulley), Andrea (Ken Peckham), and Jeffrey Dods (Manon).Cherished Nana to Sonja, Margot, Sarah-Jane, Marie-Anne, and Gregory. Survived by her sisters Patricia (Ken Hart predeceased ), Barbara (Michael Kimball) and Allison (Rick Clark), brother-in-law, John Dods (Mary) and sister-in-law, Nancy (Tony Williams).Deeply missed by her best friend, Heather Maclean. Remembered fondly by the mother of Steven’s children, Anita Miettunen, and Jonathon’s daughter, Sybil Shanahan.Elizabeth graduated from the Toronto Western Hospital, School of Nursing in 1959. After raising a family, she went on to complete a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English Literature at York University, graduating in 1976. She subsequently studied at the Ontario College of Art, producing a broad range of two-dimensional art forms that hung prominently in her home. She was the founder and co-founder of three businesses in the Healthcare sector.Elizabeth devoted many of her later years into research on her family genealogy, and she was an early adopter of computer programs to transcribe historical church records dating back to the 1840s.Elizabeth was the pillar of the Dods family, hosting endless memorable meals and parties at her home on Wasaga Beach. She was a gifted cook and baker. She was immensely proud of her three children. She adored her five grandchildren, spoiling them with her attention and culinary talents. Her partner Jonathon provided many years of love and support to her, allowing her to remain at home as long as possible.Due to the uncertain circumstances, a Celebration of Elizabeth’s Life will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to W.C. TOWN FUNERAL CHAPEL, 110 Dundas Street East, Whitby.In memoriam, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada.
