On October 10th, 2022, Mary Agnes Brown from Orono, born November 29, 1937, passed away peacefully at the age of 84.
Wife of Ray Brown, mother of George (Kathy) Reid, Pam (Pat) Roberge, Carl (Veronica) Brown, Kevin (Jennifer) Brown and step-mother of Denise (Paul) Allen.
Mary had 7 grandchildren Shawn, Sherry, Jeff, Marla, Owen, Riley and Rachel as well as 4 great-grandchildren.
Mary was a compassionate volunteer for 20 years at the Bowmanville Memorial Hospital.
She enjoyed dancing with her Ganaraska Country Cloggers and later the Modern Square Dancing. Ray and Mary enjoyed 50 years together.
As per Mary’s wishes there will not be a funeral or service. Cremation has taken place and a private interment will be held at McCrae’s Cemetery.
The Family would like to thank the staff at Hillsdale Terraces for the care given to Mary.

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Margaret (Rita) Fyfe, in her 85th year on October 7, 2022 at Lakeridge Health in Ajax.
Rita was born in Aberdeen, Scotland where she met her husband Jim and then they emigrated to Toronto in 1956. Rita worked at Shell Canada until she retired.
Rita loved to spend time with her grand children, including giving lessons on how to bake the perfect shortbread or build Christmas Gingerbread houses.
She loved the outdoors and travelling. Rita liked to read and spent many hours doing her favourite crossword puzzles.
Rita leaves behind her loving husband Jim of 66 years and children Rita (Brian) and James (Maria).
She was a much loved and adored Grandma to Marissa, Laura, Andrew, David (Sandra), and Daniel.
She was a new Great Grandma to Hailey. Thank you to all care and first-line workers at Lakeridge Gardens and Lakeridge Health for taking great care to support Rita and the family.

Mariano passed away peacefully on Friday October 7, 2022, at Lakeridge Health Oshawa, with his daughters, Franca and Sandra by his side, in his 87th year.
Beloved husband of 64 years to the late Ottorina.
Loving father of Franca and Sandra (Kevin).
Predeceased by his daughter Assunta (late Gaetano), and son Angelo (Marisa).
Cherished nonno of Diana (Philip), Daniel, Lisa (Greg), Andrew (Brittany), Zachary and Melissa. Great-nonno of Ella, Elliott, Karen, Livy, Eric and soon-to-be Chiara.
Mariano will be deeply missed by his siblings, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Mariano was born in Lago Cosenza, Calabria, Italy. In 1956, he and Ottorina immigrated to Canada for a better life. They settled in Oshawa, where they went on to raise their family and live the rest of their days.
Mariano was a self-taught cement worker.
He worked for the Region of Durham, and retired after 20 years of hard work and dedication.
Some of his passions and joys included family gatherings, gardening, and making sausages and wine.
The family thanks Dr. Barrettara, and PSW’s: Iryna, Val, Gina, and Maria for all their help and support.

Of Oshawa, Ontario at the age of 81, passed away on Wednesday, September 28, 2022, after a long illness with his loving family by his side.
Mike was born February 2, 1941, in Dublin Ireland to the late Albert Mullen and Bridget (O’Brien).
Dearly beloved husband of Mary Ann (nee Turnbull) for 59 years.
Loving father of Angela (Glenn Dennis) and Patrick (Patricia), cherished Grandpa of Michaela, Claire, Kyra, Caleigh, and Declan.
Mike was employed by IBM for 30 years and enjoyed cruising, wood working and country music, himself playing the banjo when he had the time. He loved soccer, baseball and a Guinness with family and friends.
Mike enjoyed the challenge of fixing anything and was known for his tender heart, gracious charm, and strength.
His caring and supportive nature allowed people around him to know they could lean on him; his courage and determination defined him.
Mike is survived by his sister Breda (late Edward Thompson), sisters-in-law Kathleen (late Albert Mullen) and Isabell (late Jack Turnbull) and brother-in-law Terry Turnbull (Coleen).
Predeceased by brothers Joseph, Albert and Martin (late Colleen). He will be missed by his many nieces and nephews both in Canada and Ireland as well as special friends Bob and Janice.

It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Husband, Father and Grandfather on Wednesday, September 28th after a brief battle with cancer.
He will be greatly missed by his wife, Delores (Trimm), his children Cindy (Ben Burghout) and Michael (Elda Gorecky) and his grandchildren Michael, Kayla and Kaitlin, his great grandchildren Michael, Maximus, McKaylin and Cameron, as well as countless other family and friends.
He is predeceased by his parents and siblings and survived by one bother Fred.
Cremation has taken place and a private family celebration of life will be held at a later date.
The family is grateful for the excellent compassionate care Mike received at Oshawa General Hospital the last 2-1/2 months as well as the Dialysis Staff who took care of him the last 4-1/2 years.

After a courageous battle with cancer, Nick passed away at home with loved ones by his side.
Beloved husband and soulmate of Lorinda (Lori) for 31 years, proud and loving father of Mark (Mikayla) and Michael (Madeline), devoted brother of Justin (Samantha), dear uncle of Cameron and Hayden.
Lovingly remembered by cousins Martin (Alison) Salter and sons Mark and Christopher of England.

A proud police officer of Toronto Police Services for 34 years, Nick will be remembered for his dedication, loyalty, leadership, and sense of humor.
During his years of service, Nick was one of a select group of recipients of the Medal of Bravery which “recognizes acts of bravery in hazardous circumstances”.
Nick was a devoted friend and family man. He loved relaxing and puttering at the cottage, driving the S2000, traveling and cruising with his family and friends. His favorite place to visit was Rome and he loved everything Italian …… especially the pasta!
Nick will be remembered as both an Officer and a Gentleman.
