July 11, 1955 - August 2, 2019Elmer Francisco passed away on August 2, 2019 at the age of 64, after a courageous battle with cancer.He was a loyal husband to Remedios, an encouraging father to Adrian, Rolando, and Patrick, and a loving grandfather to Nicolas and Maximo. He was born in the Philippines on July 11, 1955 to Faustino and Juliana. His siblings are Alfredo, Lilia (deceased), Amelia, Abel, and Arnel.Elmer was an avid bowler and talented chess player. (November 17th, 1934 - July 31st, 2019)It is with much sadness that we announce the passing of Errol.He peacefully passed away at Lakeridge Health Oshawa.Errol is survived by Theresa, his devoted wife for 47 years.He was the loving father of Jennifer, Leslie, Alan, Darlene, and son-in-law, Errol.He is the cherished grandfather of Natasha, Alysia, Shanikqua, Nathaniel, and Abigail. Errol is the beloved great-grandfather of Tyrelle and Amaya.He will be lovingly remembered by his sisters-in-law, Angela, Patricia, Maralee (Rick), and Karen, as well as his nieces Marva (deceased), Juliet, June, Tracey and Wendy and nephews Junior, David, Nicholas, and Josh.Errol worked as a benchmoulder in foundries for 51 years (at Texaco in Trinidad and at Burndy Electrical/Framatome in Canada). He will be dearly missed by his friends at Club Carib of Oshawa, Inc. where he was a devoted member for over 40 years.Errol was a forerunner and dedicated past President of the Toronto Cricket Umpires’ and Scorers’ Association for 10 years and a life member of the Canada Cricket Umpires Association. He was a proud member of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers, and he was a devout member of the Loyal St. John’s Lodge for almost 40 years.Errol was passionate about being involved in these organizations and communities. A civil engineer, a great builder, a man skilled in many trades, and a beloved husband and father, has passed away peacefully July 28th, at the age of 69, after a long and difficult battle with cancer.Eugene is survived by his wife, Wanda Moroz, his sons Wojtek (spouse Michelle) and Piotr Moroz (spouse Amanda), and his only grandson Jakub Moroz. He was a very honest and hard-working man, who loved his family very much and who would stop at nothing to be there for them any time they needed him. A devoted father and husband, not only did he have a great love for his wife, children, and grandson, but he also enjoyed reading books, gardening, and planting flowers, especially roses. Ted passed away suddenly at Orillia Soldiers Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, July 16, 2019 at the age of 86.He is the beloved husband of Eileen.Loving father of Terry and Mike, Doug and Diane, Jeff and Maria, Dale and Debbie and Cooper.Loved grandfather of Chad and Kari-Ann, Dana and Mike, Kelsey and Kyle, Taylor and Sydney, Brittany and Shelby.Dear great-grandfather to Alyssa, Brock, Carter, Harper and great great-grandfather to Beau.He is predeceased by his brother John Douglas Stone and his parents Bill and Margaret Stone.Edward (Ted) Stone began his highly successful pitching career with the Oshawa Legion, Branch 43, Baseball Association in 1946. In 1953, while playing for the Oshawa Merchants of the Inter County League, Ted was scouted by the Boston Red Sox.He signed a pro contract at the end of the 1953 season and began his professional baseball career in 1954 in the Red Sox farm system. He played for the Corning, New York Red Sox Team in 1954, where his pitching record was an impressive 13-2. Ted then became the ace of the Corning Red Sox staff in 1955 posting a 13-8 record.In 1956, after a brief call up to the Carolina League the year before, he achieved 6 more wins for the Greensboro, North Carolina Patriots. Ted advanced up the ladder again to start the 1957 season in Albany, New York where he pitched mainly in relief for the Albany Senators.Overall the hard throwing right hander recorded a 33-22 record during his pro career. Ted returned home to Oshawa in 1958 to play semi-pro ball and help the Merchants. Ted began coaching baseball in Oshawa during the 1960's and coached for over 30 years in the Oshawa Minor Baseball Association. Over the years he helped mentor and teach countless young pitchers in the Oshawa system.Ted was recognized by the OLMBA as the right handed pitcher of the decade in the 1950's and coach of the decade for the 1960's while also voted the best right handed pitcher of the century. Ted was inducted into the Oshawa Sports Hall of Fame in 1996 and again in 2001 with his team mates on the 1952 Oshawa McCallum Transporters team. His #10 was officially retired in 2002.A visitation will be held at the Morris Funeral Chapel, Bowmanville on Friday, July 19, 2019 from 10 a.m. until 12 noon.
