It is with great sadness the family of Mildred Muir announce her peaceful passing on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville in her 96th year.
Beloved wife of the late Alexander (Sandy) Muir. Devoted mother of Barbara Goodin (Lyle), Alex (Lana) and James (Lee-Ann). Proud and loving Grandma of Heather (Gilles), Nathan, Tyler (Breanne) Jennifer (Quinton), Jason (Alison), Stephen, and Lyndsey (Mike). Adored Great-Grandma of Luke, Sara, Gage, Easton, Sierra, Savannah, Piper, Miller, Archer, and Teagan.
Lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Daughter of the late Norman and Hazel Metcalf. Dear sister of Jean Jeffrey.
Predeceased by her brothers Alvin and Harvey. Mom lived her life cherishing each day on the farm in Courtice enjoying her family and home. She had a positive and gentle spirit and was always available to listen with interest, support, and encouragement.
Mom will also be remembered for her delicious meals and baking, many creative talents, open-mindedness, love of learning, and her generosity of time and kindness to family and friends.
She was the wind at our backs and will be greatly missed.
In keeping with Mom’s wishes a private family service and interment will take place at Ebenezer Cemetery, Courtice.

Inge Plahuta of Bobcaygeon in her 85th year.
Inge and her husband Henry owned and operated Henry’s Deli in Oshawa and Sherwood Gardens in Bobcaygeon.
Inge is loved and missed by her husband of 65 years, Henry Plahuta.
Also missed by her children Nick Plahuta (June) of Dunsford and Sandy Morton (Dean) of Bowmanville.
Loving Oma of Sarah (Justin), Laura, Sean, Megan (Anthony), Mikayla and great Oma of Mya and Noa.
Survived by her brother Horst Huber (Elfi) of Bowmanville, sister Brigitte Beier of Peterborough and brother-in-law Reiner Mauke of Mississauga.
Predeceased by her parents and sister Christl Mauke.
Cremation has taken place.
A private family funeral service will be held at a later date.

It is with broken hearts we announce the passing of Isabella Romaine Fleming (Hoggan), Mother and Granny.
Isabella passed away at home, surrounded by her family, in her 90th year on November 27, 2022.
We are grateful to have had 319 bonus days to care for our mother and share in her life.
Isabella is now reunited with her loving husband L. Keith Fleming (April 28,2021), her infant son Kevin (March14, 1960), her daughter-in-law Glory Fleming (April 9, 2022) and her parents Margaret and Robert Hoggan.
Isabella is survived by her remaining children Brian, Craig (Norma), Blair, Karen (Kevin), Kathryn and Darryl (Leona).
Isabella will be greatly missed by her grandchildren Crystal (Robert), Mathieu (Rachael), Kassandra, Keith (Yoshie), Jessica, Carl (Holly), Alana, Lola and Scott.
Isabella will also be remembered by her step grandchildren Keith (Lorraine) and April.
Isabella was a much loved Granny to her great grandchildren Benjamin, Abigail, Zachary, Sophia, Opie and Maverick.
Isabella will also be missed by her brother-in-law Gerry Fleming and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Pat Warren and Ken Leonard for all their visits, brightening Isabella’s day, a welcome change and fresh face to her day to day life.
The family would also like to thank the PSW’s from CBI for their exceptional care, Velma from ParaMed nursing and Dr. Kevin Graham for all his support over the year. You all helped us keep Isabella at home, happy, safe and well cared for.

Muriel passed away peacefully November 13, 2022, a few short days following her 99th birthday.
She is survived by and will be deeply missed by her daughters Jane (Keith), Marilyn, and Trish, as well as by her granddaughter Kendra, and step grandchildren Troy and Tannis.
Born November 8, 1923 in Bowmanville, Ontario to Charles and Irene Found, Muriel was predeceased by her husband Montague (2015) and her brother Ralph.
Muriel enjoyed a life surrounded by family, friends, and dogs. After years of raising her three girls, in later life Muriel returned to the working world taking a position in the Personnel Department of the T.E. Eaton Company in Toronto.
Upon their respective retirements Muriel and Monte spent many happy years travelling, curling, golfing, and maintaining their glorious property in Pickering, Ontario.
The family is gratefully indebted to the care teams at Douglas Crossing, and Uxbridge Cottage Hospital for ensuring Muriel’s final days were calm and peaceful.
At Muriel’s request there will be a cremation followed by a private interment.

Dear granny/grandma of Tammy (Paul), Angie, Jennifer, Jason, the late Matthew, Rachel (Marc), Erica (Luke), Tyler (Emily), Alycia (Evan), Dallas, Abigail, Ethan and Christian.
Great grandmother of Josh, Austin, Charlotte, Boden, Eleanor, Hazel James, Finley, Hazel Victoria, Josephine and Izzy.
Fondly missed by her extended family of girlfriends especially Norah, Ann and Joan.
Beautiful, sweet and always stylish, Irma will be remembered for her thoughtfulness and care. She loved baking sweets and treats, making birthdays and holidays so special, playing cards with her girlfriends and making her home blossom through her passion for gardening.

Memorial visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 15th from 3 pm to 6 pm at ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME , 124 King Street East, Oshawa with Memorial Mass at St. Gertrude’s Catholic Church on Wednesday, November 16th at 11am. Interment of Ashes to follow at Resurrection Cemetery.

Iris (nee Holmes), beloved wife of the late Frederick King of Blackstock.
Survived by her siblings Martin Holmes, Paul Holmes, Rita Priestly and Nicholas Holmes.
Dear aunt to Robert, Paul, James, Magda, Emma, Michelle and Jeffery. Iris will be missed by her extended family and many friends. Iris was born on December 3, 1943 to Victor and Nora Holmes in Birmingham, England.
She enjoyed childhood in the beautiful British countryside in the village of Bidwell. Around the age of 12 her parents decided the family would immigrate to Canada and settled in Scarborough.
This is where Iris was able to explore her true love of all animals, especially horses.
Later the family moved to Pickering then lastly Blackstock.
This is the farm where Iris really started her Welsh Pony breeding program and bred many ponies that went on to be champions in many disciplines. Iris’ love for her family, friends and animals, contributed to a fulfilled life.
