After a life well lived, it is with sadness that we announce the death of our Mom, Olga Johnson (nee Melnichuk) in her 91st year.
She was born on August 7, 1931 and died on October 3, 2021.
She was the widow of the late Morley E. Johnson (deceased 1992) and a beloved mother of Rev. Vicki Homes (Dan), Carol Moores (Brian), David Johnson (Mary).
Loved “Baba” of Benjamin, Michael (Chantal), Aaron (Tonyah), Laura (Carter), Sarah (Mike) and “Great Baba” to Savannah, Cash, Kendra, Lina, Aodhan, and Isabella.
Beloved sister of the late Steve Melnichuk, the late Bill Melnichuk and the late Jim Melnichuk.
She was a loved sister-in-law of Karen and Sharon Melnichuk, Bernice Webster and Wayne and Pat Johnson.
Olga is also survived and was loved by many nieces and nephews and step grandchildren.
Olga was born in Toronto and moved to Oshawa at the age of 6yrs old.
She graduated from O’Neil Collegiate (OCVI) and went to work at the Dominion bank where she met her late husband Morley.
She was a charter member of St. Luke’s Presbyterian Church and a charter member of the St. Luke’s Ladies Guild.
She volunteered at Lakeridge Health Oshawa in long term care and then transferred to the Oncology Department until her health declined.
Following the death of her husband, Olga continued to enjoying travelling.
A funeral service will be held at St. Luke’s Presbyterian Church (Rossland Rd and Park Rd) Oshawa on Thursday October 7th, 2021. A one-hour visitation will be held from 10:00am to 11:00 am in the sanctuary, followed by a service of remembrance at 11:00am. The interment will immediately follow at MOUNT LAWN CEMETERY.
In her memory, donations can be made to the Children’s Wish Foundation or St. Luke’s Presbyterian Church, Oshawa Ontari.
Passed away peacefully, at Hillsdale Estates in Oshawa, on Monday, September 20, 2021, in her 61st year.
Beloved wife of Paul, Olga was born in Portugal on June 26, 1961.
She will be forever remembered and loved by daughters, Stephanie (Ryan), and Lauren.
Avó to King and Kaiser, daughter of Maria Luisa and Francisco Saragaço.
Sister to Ana Paula (Carlos), Lidia Maria, Maria Antonietta (Blendinho), and brothers, Alvaro (Julie) and Fernando, and sister-in-law, Laurie Herring (David), as well as many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff of Hillsdale Estates for their wonderful care over the last 11 years.

Originally from Saskatchewan, he moved to Toronto and became a mechanic, enjoyed spending time with family and friends, taking many driving adventures across all of Canada and the US.
An outdoorsman at heart, he enjoyed fishing and camping.
He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

After a battle with cancer, Olivier Arseneau quietly passed away at 9:15 am on April 30th, 2021.
Olivier is survived by a loving wife, Reseda Arseneau (Brideau), married since 1955, his sister Marie, daughter Janet (husband Dave), sons Gene (Janie), Dan (Marivi) and son in law Rob (late Denise).
He also leaves behind grandchildren Alex, Ginny, Shane, Michael, Jessica and Audrey. Great grandchildren Owen, Finley, Ayla, Luca, Silver, and Lakelyn.
He will be missed by many nieces and nephews.
Born on January 27, 1933 in Inkerman, New Brunswick, to father Eugene Arseneau and mother Francoise Robichaud, who predeceased him.
A dedicated employee of General Motors for 35 years, member of the Knights of Columbus (#8549), member of the French Club and volunteer for a variety of charities.
Olivier was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Gertrude, Lina, Helene, and Emma. Brothers Jean and twin brother Joseph. Olivier was also preceded in death by his son Allen and daughter Denise.
Olivier requested to be cremated. A private family service will be held, and his cremated remains will be interred at the family plot in Resurrection Cemetery, Whitby Ontario, on a later date.
