He was a longtime member of St. Gertrude's Parish in Oshawa and St. Leo's Parish in Brooklin and a lifetime member of the Royal Canadian Legion and Knights of Columbus.Elmer was one of the “originals” at The Court at Brooklin where he lived for twelve years.
