Passed away peacefully, on her own terms, at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on October 9, 2023, at the age of 87.
Cherished Baba of Morgan, Zak, and Matthew.
Loving mother of Sandra (Paul) and Joanne.
Dear sister of Ken. Predeceased by her husband John, her parents Nick & Vera Kornic, her siblings Tim, Alec, John, Betty, Nick, and Marion and her beloved uncle John Redko.
Nydia will be fondly remembered by Janine, Helen and the girls, Jan, and Bill and her neighbours Carl, Harvey, Sarah, Chris, John, Cheryl, and Lisa and many other family members.
Nydia was a proud graduate of Ritson Road Public School.
After graduation, she worked for over 30 years at Duplate and was a dedicated union member of Local 222. She was feisty and truly enjoyed feeding all the wildlife on her street.
As per her wishes, cremation will take place and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.

assed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Saturday, September 30, 2023, at the age of 74.
He is survived by his loving wife Tiziana (nee Gandi) Chimienti.
Loving father of Antonietta (Anthony), Giuseppe (Nancy), and Nadia (Aco).
Beloved Nono of Olivia, Victoria, Sebastian, Alexandria, Sophia, Julian, Julia, Christina and Nicola.
Dear brother of Domenica, Lucia (Giovanni), and the late Franca (Andrew) and cherished uncle of his nieces and nephews.
He joins his parents, Antonia and Giuseppe, his sister, Franca, and many of his cousins, and friends in heaven. Nick was a proud Italian, who loved soccer (only when Italy played).
His family was always his priority and he never missed out on a weekend at the cottage with a beer in one hand and a cigar in the other. Nick will be sadly missed by his family, friends, the gang at Gores Landing Park and Marina and many of his tenants.
He will be remembered for his big heart and sense of humour.
He cherished all the visits, prayers and well wishes that he received over the last few weeks.
We know he will be watching over all of us from above.
A celebration of life will follow in the near future.

Norm is survived by his wife and best friend of 42 years, Lois (nee Wherry).
He was predeceased by his brother Christopher (Sonny). He is the cherished father of Rick (Kathi), Brad (Susan), Mike, Sandy Clarry (Dave, predeceased) Sheila Brady (Glen) and David Smith (Julie).
Predeceased by his daughters Lorraine and Lynn. He is survived by 19 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. He is predeceased by grandson Joshua. He will be fondly remembered by his nieces Laura and Glenda Dunn.
The family will always be forever appreciative of the wonderful care and love extended to Norm by the staff and families at Hillsdale Terraces.
Family will gather for the graveside service at Mount Lawn Funeral Home & Cemetery, 21 Garrard Road, Whitby, Ontario at 2 pm on Thursday, September 28, 2023.

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the sudden passing of Nahzeer “Naz” Prescod-Beckles on Wednesday September 6th, 2023 at the very young age of 17 years.
He was the loved son of Adolphus Beckles and Glenda Prescod. Dear younger brother to Jade Lockhart, Olivia Armstrong and Nyeemah Prescod-Beckles and Jahmeelah Beckles.
Brother in-law to Anthony Lockhart and Alek Nikiforov.
Naz was born Sunday July 9th, 2006 in Toronto, Ontario.
He was a charismatic and outgoing boy. He enjoyed playing video games, music, anime and spending time with his friends & family. Our family was not expecting the life of Naz to be cut short so soon.
We are devastated by this loss and will feel the absence of Naz forever. Naz was the funniest, kindest soul and had a smile and laugh that lit up a room.
Naz will be lovingly remembered by so many family members and friends; he will be greatly missed.

Dearly beloved husband of of 75 years to Jeanne D'Arc (nee Lanteigne).
Loving father of Lise Watt (Brian), Roger (Patricia), and Paul (Cathy).
Cherished grandpa of Roger Watt (Nancy), Gregory Watt (Connie), Paul Legere, Amey Legere (Kaitlin), Rebecca Fontoura (Kyle), Eric Legere; and great grandpa of Mikaela Stirpe, Ava-Lise Stirpe, Madelyn Fontoura, and Leah Watt.
Dear brother of Hermel, and predeceased by siblings Estelle, Henry, Lionel, Cajeton, Alcide, Jean-Eudes, Benoit, Gerard, Hedard, and adopted siblings Amandine and Leonard. Son of the late Joseph Legere and Anne-Marie Lanteigne of Lower Caraquet, New Brunswick.
Nicholas, tried being a fisherman for 1 season, became a lumberjack in northeastern U.S, Quebec and Ontario, became a carpenter for most of his career earning Lifetime membership in the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America after 50 yrs of continuous membership.
Worked on the Niagara Falls Hydro dam, Pearson airport Terminal 2, Toronto Subway System, Pickering Hydro Plant, Bruce Hydro Plant ending his career at the Darlington Hydro plant. Most of his 25yrs with Ontario Hydro as a Carpenter Foreman. From 1957 to 1961 he accepted a position with the Canada Colombo Plan.
His role was a foreman at the Warsak Hydro Electric Project in Pakistan. He was accompanied by his wife and 2 older children. Nick was Co-Founder and President of the Ste Madeleine School Hockey league.
In commemoration of his many years of service the Nick Legere trophy was presented to the player Most Improved, as well as displaying sportsmanship on and off the ice. This trophy promoted Nick’s ideals and beliefs towards hockey.
A visitation for Nicholas will be held Wednesday, September 6, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West. A Funeral Mass will occur Thursday, September 7, 2023 at 10:30 AM. Interment to follow at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, 355 Taunton Rd E, Whitby.

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Nicole "Thunderwoman" S C Preston at the age of 29, on Sunday, August 20th, 2023.
Beloved daughter of Denise Tulk (Russell), cherished sister to Jenette, dear Auntie to Nilofar, Nhyle and Jamil, adored granddaughter of Christine Wooller, the late Ronald Wooller, Paul Preston and the late Shirley Preston.
She will be greatly missed by her ever adoring Auntie Shannon, Uncle Dely and cousins Genika and Ceara, as well as countless extended family and friends.
