Born in Meaford on August 9, 1937, she was a daughter of the late Lynton and Dorothy (nee McNally) Robertson.
Ruby was the loving and patient mother of Heather and Michael Zanussi and Judy and Carl Pastway. She was the proud Grandma of Cherene, Shalane (Brent), Sherelle (Aaron), Devon (Julia), Jacob, Dillon (Jenna), Kailey (Tom), Corey (Steve), Mitchell; and GG to Eithan, Evan, Reece, Rilee, Claire and Chase. Ruby is survived by her brother Dale Robertson (Sharron / late Jane), niece Paige and nephew Jason.
She was predeceased by her sister Helen (late Jack) Wipperman.
Ruby was a very hard worker and spent her early years working as a Bell Operator. She later became a well-liked and respected PSW at the Meaford Nursing Home, until her retirement when she turned 65. Family and friends meant the world to Ruby. She always looked forward to her annual trip to B.C in August, trips to Kitchener and quality time spent down at Christie Beach. She was a loyal and devoted friend, loved chatting on the phone, and was a great listener and confidant. As most would know, one of Ruby’s favourite meals was a good pork dinner, done just right! Always better when shared with good company and conversation. Ruby will be fondly remembered by the bread man and will be missed by her family and friends, but will never be forgotten.
Ruby’s life will be celebrated at a later date with family and friends, and a pork dinner!
As your expression of sympathy, donations to the Meaford Nursing Home Auxiliary (Cheques Only Please) or the Meaford Hospital Foundation would be appreciated and may be made through the Ferguson Funeral Home, 48 Boucher St. E., Meaford, ON N4L 1B9 to whom arrangements have been entrusted.
