Barb was the cornerstone of our family; a beacon of strength, love, and unwavering support.
Barb had a passion for life that touched everyone around her. She was the cherished wife of Rod, her partner and confidant for over 65 years. Together, they created a family full of love and laughter; raising their two daughters in a home where warmth and kindness flourished.

HOZJAN, Stefan (Pista) -
July 23, 1944 - July 30, 2024
It is with profound sadness we share the passing of Stefan (Pista) Hozjan, after his courageous battle with lung cancer.
He will be sadly missed by his adoring wife, Valerie, and their children, Tanya (Kyle), Kristin, and Steven (Abilene). Proud grandfather of Kingston, Teaghan, Kase, North, Ariat and Baby Hozjan.
Stefan was born in Crensovci, Slovenjia, and came from a large family.
He was the youngest of 14 siblings, survived by his brother, Tony, his five sisters, and their families.
Stefan arrived in Canada in 1967, when he was 23, to start a family; the last year he saw the Toronto Maple Leafs win the Stanley Cup, a true and loyal fan.
He cherished his family's heritage and the traditions he grew up with, passing them along to his children. Making family recipes, wines, spirits, smoking meats, sausages and horseradish, the good way, like back home.
A personal favourite being zlevenka, which reminded him of his mother. Always happy, there wasn't a day he just shrugged off a problem. Not afraid of hard work, Stefan supported his family and never asked questions, doing everything he could for his wife and kids. Being outside and getting his hands dirty, splitting firewood, cutting the grass, working his gardens, gardening and having bonfires was his shui, and a way to relax and stay in shape.
He will be greatly missed! Donations are preferred in lieu of flowers. The family has set up a go fund me (gofund.me/f6746449).
Stefan has been cremated, as per his wishes, and a private celebration of life. will be held at a later date. Na Zdravje!
