With great sadness, we announce the sudden passing of our mother, Joyce Blake, on Monday, July 25, 2022, in her 93rd year.
Born Nov. 11, 1929, in Toronto Ontario, to George Davis and Irene Harvey.
Mother to Janet Hildyard (John), and John Blake.
Grandmother to David Bureau, and great grandmother to Elijah Bureau. Wife of the late James Blake.
She was a long time resident of Pickering Ontario, and will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews, and other family members and friends.
Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will take place at a future date.
In lieu of flowers, if you wish, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, or to the Yonge Street Mission, which was founded by her late grandfather John 'Hallelujah ' Davis, and serves street-involved youth and families in need.
1957-2022
Peacefully in his sleep Nelu passed away on July 20th, 2022 at the age of 64.
He will be forever lovingly remembered by his spouse and soul mate of 33 years Lizeta, who was by his side, sisters Carmen and Lacramioara, brothers and sisters in law Aurel and Emma, Aurelia and Radu, nieces Michelle and Julianna.
He will also be dearly missed by his friends and greatly missed by his coworkers at IPEX.
Predeceased by his father Niculae, his mother Ruxandra and sisters Georgeta and Cornelia.

March 15, 1936 - June 28, 2022
Died peacefully, surrounded by family in his 86th year on June 28, 2022.
Survived by his wife Irene (Beattie) and children Larry (Joanne), Maureen (Chris), Gerard (Leslie), Kevin and Patrick (Karen) as well as his grandchildren Brad (Katie), Matt (Erica), Kristen (Reese), Laura (Alexandra), Cameron, Spencer, Mae and Jackson and his great-grandchildren Madison, Blake, Everly, Nolan, Zoey and Mackenzie.
Born in East York in 1936. Predeceased by his parents Lillian and Ted Arbour, his brother Neil and sisters Theresa, Marie and Irene.
His career encompassed working with Dun & Bradstreet in Toronto and Halifax, WJ Gage in Toronto, CBS Records in Toronto and finally Hallmark Cards in Toronto as the VP of HR until his retirement in 1997.
Many hours spent enjoying the cottage life on Whitestone Lake and then Harp Lake with family and friends. Many hours spent on the golf course with the highlight being a Hole in One at the age of 77. Enjoyed curling at various clubs over the years and enjoyed travelling the world with Irene, the love of his life.
His passion for hockey never ceased. He played his high school hockey at De La Salle College.
After graduation, he continued playing the game he loved. Highlights were playing for St. Brigid’s and capturing a Senior THL title in 1957. Later enjoyed playing for the first old timers league in Toronto.
Continued to enjoy the game with the Hydro Happy Gang and the Out to Lunch Bunch until he hung up the blades at the age of 70.
A kind and thoughtful man admired by so many and inspired the generations following him.
Funeral services to be held at St. Johns the Evangelist Parish at 903 Giffard St in Whitby on Saturday July 9 at 10:30 AM.

Born in Tomintoul, Scotland March 10th, 1933. Passed away peacefully in his 90th year on May 30th, 2022 after a brief illness.
Pre-deceased by his wife Mary, son John and brother Jimmy.

July 20, 1931 - April 21, 2022
(age 90)
Our mother passed in her 91st year, predeceased by her husband Lou only 6 months earlier.
Mom was born in Germany and came to Canada where she met and married our father in 1955.
She leaves behind her children Rob (Kelly), Bettina (Linda), Andrea (Ian), and her grandchildren Cooper, Cuyler, Riley, Jenna, and Spens.
She was very proud to be their Omi. We will miss you mom.
March 12, 1949 - April 16, 2022
Larry passed away Saturday, April 16th, 2022 at age 73, in Lakeridge Health Oshawa Hospital, with his wife Nancy at his side.
His heart finally wore out after a lengthy fight with a mystery brain mass.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Nancy, son Adam (Tara), grandson Remy, son Brian (Rebecca), daughter Laura, Mother Millie, Sister Susan (Terry) O'Toole, niece Taryn (Neil) Pon & great niece Keeva, nephews Ryan and Eryn O'Toole.
Son of (the late Irvin) & Millie Goucher, Larry was born in Annapolis Royal, Nova Scotia and spent his early years in the Maritimes.
When he was in high school in Kingston, he started the first of 6 summers as part of the Fort Henry Guard & joined the Naval Reserve as a cadet.
In 1968 he moved to Carleton Place, where he met his future wife.
After high school he attended University of Waterloo, graduating with an Honours degree in Environmental Studies in 1973. He & Nancy were married in April 1972.
He worked initially for a chartered accountants firm then joined the Bank of Nova Scotia in 1975 & retired in 2005. During his 30 years with the bank he worked in many branches across Western Ontario, Grand Cayman for 2 years, then in Banking Operations International in Toronto. He travelled extensively in the Caribbean setting up data centers at the banks on the island, writing the manuals then teaching the staff how to run the programs.
He loved volunteering. Many of his interests overlapped. He joined Scouts Canada in 1959 & as an adult, was a leader at many levels, greatly enjoying the outdoors and camping. He became an Amateur Radio Operator and involved the young people in Ham radio events to talk to people all over the world.
He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion and was recently honoured with the Lifetime Membership Award.
As a member of the Limber Gunners, he had the great privilege and honour to ride in the quad truck leading the funeral procession for Cpl Nathan Cirillo in 2014.
Recently he began assisting at the Ontario Regiment Museum in Oshawa, as a tour guide and with tank restoration.
He thoroughly enjoyed participating in the annual play "A Spirit Walk" at the Pickering Museum Pioneer Village.
He was a member of St. Mark's United Church since moving to Whitby in 1983. If an extra pair of hands was needed, he was there.
On Saturday, May 21st, as per his wishes, his funeral will be conducted by the Chaplin for the Whitby Legion Branch 112 at 117 Byron St. S., Whitby. Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. and service at 4:00 p.m.
Masks will be required & the family respectfully asks that those who are unvaccinated, have had recent Covid symptoms or who have possibly been exposed, remain home. Streaming of the service and/or a YouTube video of the service are still being arranged. Information close to the funeral date will be available on the website of W.C. TOWN FUNERAL CHAPEL , Whitby.
Cremation has taken place & as per his wishes, he will be buried in Round Hill, Nova Scotia at a future undecided date.
