(79) passed away peacefully on July 4, 2023 surrounded by family at his hospital bed.
Nigel was the son of the late Sydney Boos and Marjorie Boos (also known as Lady Marjorie Pierre), husband of Jackie, father of Nicholas (dec.), Trina and Kristiann, four grandkids (Chloe, Jacob, Finn and Noa), and brother of Fr. John, Jennifer De Lima (dec.), Anthony and Charles Pierre.
A proud Trinidadian, Nigel led a full life of adventure, music, mentorship and a love for God.
At 20, Nigel felt the calling to Priesthood and spent seven years in the Seminary in Ireland before making the decision to pursue other endeavours. Eventually choosing family life, Nigel saw his future wife Jackie at a distance, purchased the ring before even meeting her and proposed on their first date. She said, Yes! (six months later).
As a Catholic, Nigel took his calling as Priest, Prophet and King, to heart. With no musical training, Nigel formed a massive youth choir in Trinidad, The Assumption Folk Chorale, recording A Brand New Canticle EP and bringing many youth to the Lord before moving his young family to Scotland (and then Canada) on many new adventures in his career as a geologist.
In Canada, Nigel continued to mentor many young people to follow Jesus’ call to the faith with his Life in the Spirit Seminar work. Those who knew Nigel have been gifted memories of warm conversations, little known facts of their family history (he was also an amateur genealogist), and stories of growing up in glorious Trinidad.
