It is with heavy hearts that the family of the late Susannah Warren announce her peaceful passing on July 19th, 2024 at the Western Long-Term Care-Palliative Care Unit, at the age of 91 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, her children: Elizabeth, and Cecil (Imelda Lee); grandchildren: Tara Lee, Heather Feaver, and Justin Lee; great-grandchildren: Noah and Levi Feaver, Eden and Thane Lee; brother: Cecil Harding (June); sisters-in-law: Lillian (Ruby) Franke, and Meta Roberts (Darrell); and daughter-in-law: Dale Warren; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
Susannah is predeceased by her husband: David Warren; son: Terry Warren; grandson: David Warren; her parents: Cecil and Julia Harding; sisters: Marion Boone (Steward), and Amy Gilliam; brothers: Reuban Harding (Maxine); and sister-in-law: Ann Davis (Dempsey).
Susannah was born in Greenspond in 1932, but later moved to Corner Brook with her mother and siblings in her early childhood years. She worked caring for the elderly as a nursing assistant at the various retirement homes in the Corner Brook area. Sue, as she was called by her many friends, cherished her many walks to Murphy’s Square to shop at the different retail stores. She could often be seen carrying anything from a 5 lb bag of potatoes, to a vacuum cleaner all the ways back to her home. During some evenings, Susannah was off to the local bingo hall, where she could be seen with her dabber hitting a dozen cards at once, followed by the echo of “BINGO!”, which could be heard by everyone if she won. Of course, the cabin at Number 4 Brook in York Harbour was her and dad’s retreat for 30 years, which brought them much joy and happiness over the years.
The family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to all the doctors, nurses, and staff of the fourth and fifth floor at the Western Long-Term Care-Palliative Care Unit, as well as to the staff of Mountainview Retirement Home, for their exceptional care provided to mom during her time of need.
Cremation has taken place. There will be no formal visitation or funeral service at this time. Interment to take place at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu off flowers, a donation can be made in Susannah’s memory to a charity of one’s choice.
