POTTS, Iris Potts - Our mother Iris passed on July 24th.
She was 94 years old and very tired.
For years she would often say, "I'm ready to go, my bags are packed!”
She will join our father Stan, which in the end, was all she wanted.
Iris was quick to see the good in people, often refusing to take off her rose coloured glasses.
She was caring, thoughtful and funny, and none of that hid the toughness she inherited from her father: Nobody messed with her family! She was the perfect mother, a steadfast wife and a trusted friend to all.
She was wonderful. And we will miss her.

ROBINSON, Hugh Nick Robinson - It is with great sadness that I write to say that Nick passed away Friday July 26, 2024 at 12:25 PM in the Ajax Pickering Hospital.
Our lives are forever changed with the passing of this giving man.
In one sense there is no death.
The life of a soul on earth lasts beyond his departure and we will always feel his life touching ours.
We will hear his voice speaking to us and his spirit looking out of other eyes, ………he will be talking to us in the familiar things he touched, worked with and loved.
He lives on in our lives and in the lives of all who knew him.
We can’t feel saddened over the loss of those we love – without first remembering the joy of loving them.
The real sadness would have been never having them to love in the first place.
REMEMBRANCE is a journey we take back into a time that was, and our thoughts are the only ticket needed.
We who have loved are truly blessed!
Let the sunshine that Nick always projected fill your hearts.
Let him live on in all of us just as the sun greets us every day!
Arrangements entrusted to THORNTON FUNERAL CENTRE (1200 Thornton Road North, Oshawa, 905-579-6787). A Celebration of Nick’s life will take place at a later date.

FLYNN, Stephanie Laing Gilbert – Our incredible gift was taken from us at the much too early age of 55
She leaves behind her parents, R-J and Humphrey Gilbert; her much-loved children, Cameron, Braeden and Caitlin.
She will be missed by her sister and best friend, Lisa along with her children, Stephanie’s nephews, Jack and Charlie. Steph grew up in Toronto attending elementary school at Whitney.
Moving on to graduate from Branksome Hall, she was a prefect in her final year. She earned an undergraduate degree at Western University followed by one year at Seneca College.
The working world took her to the National Ballet, University Health Network and University of Toronto. The family lived in Oakville for a few years before relocating to London, Ontario. She was a single Mom devoted to her children for 15 years during which time she established a very successful jewellery design business.
In 2019, she went back to work in Corporate Development full time at Western University. What a caring, devoted Mother and problem solver with inner strength.
Although our lives will never be the same without her, we take comfort in knowing she has finally been reunited with her first-born daughter, Alexandra.
