Peacefully, on Friday, June 7, 2024 at the Lakeridge Health Centre in Port Perry, one month before her 100th birthday.

Joan (nee Clark), beloved wife of the late Arthur Leggett (1999) and the late Ronald Davis (2018). Loved mother of Avis and her husband Doug Miller of Seagrave.

Loving grandmother of David Miller and his wife Katie of Toronto and great grandmother of Arthur. Joan will be missed by the Davis family. Predeceased by her brother Don Clark and her sister Patricia Ford.

Throughout her long life she enjoyed all kinds of crafts and artistic endeavours from painting and sketching to needlework, rug hooking and intricate crochet. A life-long learner, Joan loved to read, travel, explore new hobbies and discuss daily news events.

She loved God with all her heart and was a faithful Soldier.

She is now free of pain and singing with the Angels. Sadly missed by her husband Herbert of 63 years , daughters Debra, Brenda, Marilyn….. Grandchildren Michael, Angela, Dawson, Vanessa, Landon and Owen….

Great Grandchildren Cash and Memphis and all her extended family and friends. She touched the hearts of all who knew her.

She was kind and caring and always had time to lend an ear and give spiritual guidance.

She lived and breathed the word of God and was a shining example of what being a true Christian meant.

Dear sister of Betty (the late Charlie) Milner, Lorne (the late Joyce) Burgess, Dorothy (the late Earl) Ross, Glen (the late Ave) Burgess, Jim (Pam) Burgess, and Mary-Lou (Wayne) Wright.

Predeceased by her parents Harold and Edith Burgess, siblings Muriel (Morley) Tennant, Bob (Gladys) Burgess, Bruce Burgess, Diane (Ted) Sallows, and Darlene Burgess. She will be lovingly remembered by her many nieces and nephews.

Thank you to her team of Doctors Hadden, Popovich, Chan, Lee, and Burke and Paramed services for their care. A special thank you to Oak Ridges Hospice and everyone involved there.

We can't thank you enough for your kindness, compassion and care not only to Judy, but anyone who went to visit our mother during her stay. To her niece Tammy Burgess, for all her love and support.

At Judy's resquest, no service is being held. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

He was born to parents Santos Alfredo and Maria Alicia Osegueda in Santiago Texacuangos, El Salvador on December 5, 1952.

Juan Antonio was a lifelong learner, he graduated as a high school teacher in El Salvador, continued to earn a Bachelor’s in social studies from the university of San Salvador, studied in Venezuela, completed a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University of Santo Domingo in Dominican Republic and completed a Master of Theology and Master in Theological Study from Toronto School of Theology in Toronto.

A friend to Archbishop Oscar Romero; he was also editor of the archdiocesan newspaper “Orientacion”.

He progressed quickly and took on senior roles in the Ministry of Education of El Savador before migrating to Montreal in 1981.

Through a non-profit organization sponsored by CIDA, he directed adult literacy programs in Dominican Republic (1985-89).

In Toronto he was a high school teacher for over 20 years.

He started his career in St. Oscar Romero Catholic Secondary school before transferring over to St. Joan of Arc Catholic Academy (formerly Jean Vanier Catholic High School) where he helped shape many lives and built lifelong connections before retiring in 2015.

As a teacher, he was very involved in the school community through many activities including soccer, Spanish Club, breakfast programs and most notably the annual Multicultural night event and Multicultural Award that carries his name.

He will always be remembered by his kindness and sense of humour. Juan Antonio is survived by his current wife Sandra; his children Alicia (Quinn), Mario, Carmen (Dorelien), Mercedes, Marianela, Mariela; his grandchildren Victoria, Eric, Giselle, Daniel, Amelia, Guadalupe, Carmela, Jheriel, Jhonmar; his step-children Marco and Harold and grandchildren Olivia and Charlotte; loving siblings Maria Mirtala, Felipe Alfredo, Carmen Esperanza, Tomas and many other relatives and friends.

In Loving Memory After making sure his grandchildren could say goodbye, Jim passed away peacefully, at Oshawa General Hospital while holding hands with the love of his life, Barbara, and family by his side on May 29, 2024.

Born and raised in East York, Toronto, Jim attended St. Michael's College High School and the University of Toronto.

Jim met his soulmate, Barbara, as a teenager while leading horseback riding excursions through the Don Valley.

They were together through almost 66 years of marriage. Jim had a long career with the Scarborough Board of Education as a teacher and principal before finishing his career at Birchmount C.I.

After retiring from education, Jim went on to purchase a farm in north Oshawa, where he could fully enjoy his horses. The family would like to thank the amazing staff at Sunnybrook and Lakeridge Health Network for their wonderful and compassionate care over the last few years.

Memorial Visitation and Service will be held at MOUNT LAWN FUNERAL HOME , 21 Garrard Road, Whitby, L1N 3K4, on Wednesday, June 5, 2024. The Memorial Visitation will be from 3:00-4:00 p.m. The Memorial Service will commence at 4:00 p.m., followed by a Reception.

It is with heartfelt sadness we announce the passing of Jacqueline Alice (Rosevear) Vaneyk on Sunday May 26, 2024 with her family by her bedside.

Jacqueline died due to complications from a stroke which she suffered Tuesday May 21, 2024.

Jacqueline was born January 2, 1940 to Gus and Audrey Rosevear.

She was raised at the farm in Tyrone and attended Tyrone Public School. After graduating from Bowmanville High School Jacqueline attended Peterborough Teachers' College. On December 26, 1960 she married John Vaneyk and they raised three children on the farm where she grew up.

She was a life long member of Tyrone United Church where she fulfilled many roles, including Organist, Choir Director, Treasurer, Sunday School Teacher, etc. J

As John's partner in life and business, she was always keen to be involved with their farming operation. acqueline enjoyed travelling, gardening and spending time with her family. The fabulous view from her living room window, provided her with many hours of peacefulness.

Jacqueline is survived by her husband of 63 years and 5 months, John, and children Kris (Joy Loveridge); Karen (Peter Kruger) and Kim (Gord Tilly). Granddaughters Angela (Garreth Wigmore) and Sarah (John Ralston) and great grand daughter Audrey May Ralston.

Jacqueline is survived by her siblings Larry (Helen) Rosevear; Arlene (Murray) Yeo; Lorraine Delaney; Ken (Evelyn) Rosevear and Esther (Keith) Devolin. Aunt Jackie will be remembered by many nieces and nephews.

Donations may be made in her memory to Enniskillen Tyrone United Church or The Heart and Stroke Foundation .

Visitation will be held Monday June 3, 2024 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Northcutt Elliott Funeral Home, Bowmanville. Service will take place in the funeral home chapel at 11 a.m. on Tuesday June 4, 2024 followed by internment.
