Died peacefully in her sleep at home early Friday morning, October 14, 2016.Olive had just entered her 96th year, celebrating with family at her side.Loving wife of the late Don Henderson,Olive is survived by her 6 children; Janet, Donna (Ozzie), Gary, Wayne (Kathy), Allan, Randy (Jane).Fondly remembered by her 10 grandchildren; Debra (Andrzej), Misty (Mario), Adrienne (Greg), Sandra (Greg), Lisa (Junior), Heather (Shawn), Christopher, Brendan, Liam, Evan and her 14 great grandchildren; Chelsey, Lukas, Haley, Dakota, Carson, Christian, Brooke, Destiny, Madison, Aurora, Mira, Alexis, Mason and Aubrey.Olive was a very active volunteer at Pickering Village United Church, Ballycliffe Retirement Lodge and the Ajax-Pickering Hospital in her earlier years. She served in the Wrens (women’s navy service) during WW2.Resting at McEACHNIE FUNERAL HOME in Pickering Village (Ajax), visitation will be held on Tuesday October 18, from 6-8pm and Wednesday October 19, from 12-1pm. Funeral service will follow in the chapel at 1pm.Olive loved flowers, so they will be graciously accepted.

Peacefully, on Friday, September 16, 2016 at West Shore Village in Port Perry, at age 90. Ora (nee Dowson), was predeceased by her husband of 63 years Owen Reader in 2007.Ora is survived by her children Bryan Reader (Debbie)of Blackstock, and Sharalyn Campbell (Richard), her grandchildren Jeanette Longauer, Jocelyn Clarke (Gord), Michael Reader (Crystal), Alisa Cole (Jason), and Deryk Campbell (Erin), step grandchildren Rick Mason (Dora Fong) and Monica Weber (Mark), her great grandchildren Aidan & Zachary Clarke, Kyle, Lauren & Jayda Reader, Jacob Cole, Audrey Campbell and Amelia & Eleanor Mason.She is also survived by her brother Robert Dowson (Mary) and her sisters Jeanne McNulty and Doris McMillan (Mac). She was predeceased by her sisters Edna DeShane (Harry), Bernice Palmer (Garnet), her brother Jack Dowson (Mary Lea) and brother-in-law Neil McNulty.Mom left a legacy of being a great cook, wonderful knitter and seamstress, terrific hairdresser, fabulous caregiver and talented piano/organ player. She never lost her sense of humour. Mom and Dad made their home in Port Perry, retired to Shady Acres, Caesarea and when Dad became ill, they found their forever after home in West Shore Village.The staff became family and were there for her through the good and bad right to her final day. We will be forever grateful to all her caregivers and her Doctor, Steve Russell.
