Glenn would always say that he knew more about baseball than most people.
To put it lightly Glenn was a driven baseball fanatic.
His passion for sports in general was well known especially his love of the Leafs and Blue Jays.
He played baseball and could be heard by anyone within a ¼ mile range yelling “I got it! I got it! I got it!” as he patrolled the outfield like a pro. He worked in sales from health and beauty and in the food industry with Robin Hood Multifoods.
He became one of the first franchise owners in Canada for Subway (Sandwiches & Salads), during his entire working career he always made connections with people as he was very much a people person.
Family and friends will be welcomed at BARNES MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME (5295 Thickson Rd. N. Whitby) on Sunday November 19th from 1:00 - 4:00 for a Celebration of Life Visitation.

Grace passed away peacefully at her home.
She was 82 years old.
Born October 5, 1941 in Kentville, Nova Scotia, Grace is survived by her brother Bernie and sisters Greta (Collier) and Pauline (VanderZwet) and predeceased by siblings Phil, Rosemary, Joan, and Ruth.
Grace is the mother of Monica Dyment (Rob), Mark (Jill St. John) and Jason (Murray Grant), and grandmother to Riley, Emily and Jake.
A celebration of Grace’s life will be held at the Hampton Community Hall at 5360 Old Scugog Road North, Hampton, Ontario, on Saturday, November 18, between 1 and 4 pm.
Grace was an active member of the Hampton Pond Committee and served on the Hampton Community Board for several years.
Grace had many interests which she pursued with passion.
Among them was her love of music and nature. For many years, she was a member of the Lakeshore New Horizons Band and was a member of the Durham Community Choir.
She led hikes with ORTA and the Durham Outdoors Group, and was a trail maintenance volunteer for the Ganaraska Forest. Grace was a beautiful, loving soul, a lifelong learner and non-conformist who will be dearly missed by all.

Age 69 passed away from cancer as a result of a line of duty death on Wednesday November 1st 2023 at Lakeridge Health Oshawa.
Gail is survived by her loving husband Larry Fry of 24 years; her loving sons James (Shannon) and Paul; Her Grandchildren Emersyn and Rylee; Her father Metro Demcheson; Siblings Gord (Rita) Demcheson, Carol Dunkley, and Sue (Mike) Brown; Her Devoted nephew Michael (Marcia) Dunkley and her dearest friend Diane Cleveland.
Predeceased in death by her Mother, Giselle Demcheson.
Gail was born on July 27th 1954 in North Bay, Ontario to parents Metro and Giselle.
Gail went on to pursue a career with the Toronto Professional Fire Fighters, obtaining the rank of Captain until her retirement in 2019.
Gail was a very social, active resident of the Bloom Retirement home in Oshawa, Ontario.
Her family, friends and colleagues will all remember her as a kind and loving person.

It is with great sadness that the family of Gerry (Geraldine) Lorraine Butterfield announce her passing on October 31, 2023 at the age of 94 years old.
Born in 1929 at Chicago Memorial Hospital, Gerry is predeceased by her parents and three brothers, Frank, Joe and Ron.
Gerry was married for 57 years to the love of her life Lorne Alyn Butterfield, who passed away peacefully in 2010.
Mother of Douglas (Annette) and Gordon (Renate) and grandmother of Elizabeth (Adrian), Christopher (Maria), Patricia (Kyle), Matthew (Brittney), Michelle, Catherine, Michael and Anthony. Gerry was the great grandmother (GG as she was lovingly called) to Annabelle, Andrew, Ethan, Aleah, Jackson, Nolan, Holden, Sawyer and Sabine.
She was also Auntie Gerry to Kathy (Colin), Nancy (Rudi), Frank Jr. and Ron Jr., and great aunt to Peter, Marc and Damian. Gerry and Lorne loved living at their country home in Tyrone and often hosted family and friends on their peaceful, sprawling property.
They were closely involved with the Tyrone United Church community for many years and often volunteered whenever possible. Gerry had a giving and loving spirit and always had time for an in depth conversation about how you and your family were doing.
She always took the time to get to know everyone in her community and everyone that knew her, loved her. Gerry was quietly a spiritual woman and her belief in her God's love was unwavering.
She led our family as the strong willed matriarch for many years with a kind word and a gentle nudge in the right direction.

Inevitably, they began a courtship and eventually married in 1960. Their dedication and devotion to family and friends will always be cherished by all who knew them.
As they were inseparable in life, we will be remembering both our "Ma and Pa" together, as we feel it should be.

On Sunday October 22, 2023, at AgeCare Samac Oshawa, Gary passed away peacefully with family by his side.
Gary was the dear son of the late Joseph and Eunice Patton (nee McCrae).
He was a loving husband of 59 years to Candy Patton (nee McAfee) and father to Jennifer Patton (James Dick), Joanne Burke (Jude), Glen Patton (Crystal).
He was the proud grandfather of Cameron, Hudson, Jocelyn, Renee and Cadence and special uncle to Cristal (Mike), Michael (Shelley), Joy (Mike), Kim (Tony), Vance (Wayne), Shawn (Jackie), Shane (Angela) and Daphne and predeceased by Mark and Samantha. Gary was a caring uncle, brother-in-law and friend to many.
Gary was a Constable with the Oshawa Police Department for 12 years and retired from Ontario Hydro (Pickering and Darlington) after 30 years of service. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and spent his most treasured days cottaging with his family.
He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by family and friends on Saturday, October 28, 2023 at Mount Lawn Funeral Home, 21 Garrard Road, Whitby, for visitation 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. followed immediately by a Celebration of Life. A private family internment will take place at a later date.
