Survived by his wife and best friend of 52 years, Catherine (nee Wakelin).

Lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Bailey, Wade, Ethan, and Paige.

Held in the hearts of his brothers John (Nancy), Lloyd (Shirley), and his sister Carol (Calvin).

Predeceased by his parents Ray and Doreen, his sisters Gayle and Connie, his brother Reg, and his niece Emmy. Forever in the hearts of his brothers-in-law Larry Wakelin (Ann), and Dave Wakelin (Ann), sister-in-law Cheryl Hill, and his many special nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family of Wayne McIntyre will receive friends at the Thorne Funeral Home, Cannington, on Saturday, July 22, 2023 from 12 noon – 2 p.m. A Funeral Service to Celebrate his life will be held in the Chapel at 2 p.m. with Reverend Elizabeth Cunningham officiating. Followed immediately by a Celebration of his life at the Cannington Legion until 6 p.m. Private interment.

Passed away peacefully at Lakeridge Health Port Perry Hospital on July 7th, 2023 at age 85, after bravely battling through several challenging health issues.

He was Born September 22, 1937 in Oshawa Ontario to Clarence (Sonny) McHugh and Iva Kennedy.

Garry was predeceased by his wife June Ethel Strong in 2016 and by his daughter Janice earlier this year.

He was a loving father to Scott (Sue) McHugh and Bruce (Jennifer) McHugh and grandfather to Bryce, Carter (Jenna), Amy and Katie McHugh and Josh (Shannon) Stout.

Although Garry was born and raised in Oshawa, he happily made Port Perry his home after marrying June Strong in 1960.

For over 60 years Garry was very active in the community. He had endless energy when it came to playing, coaching or volunteering for Port Perry's softball, hockey, lob ball, broom ball, bowling or Junior C Hockey Associations.

The Family of Garry McHugh will receive friends at the Wagg Funeral Home, 216 Queen Street in Port Perry (905-985-2171) on Wednesday, July 19th from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. A Service to celebrate her life will be held in the Chapel on Thursday July 20th, at 11 a.m.

Loving grandfather to Josh Flynt, Corri Flynt, Bret Williams, Alex Williams, Abby Turner and proud great grandfather of four. Rae was a WWll Vet stationed in England in the Air Force as a radio mechanic.

He later worked for Ontario Hydro until he retired in 1979.

Rae loved to collect antique radios and fixing anything electronic, he was a proud Conservative member and loved to talk politics.

Private burial at Argyle Cemetery.

Gerts and his beloved wife, Irene (nee Bridge) had been married for 51 years.

Loving father to Colin Lemanis and Dawn Lemanis, adoring Opa to Carson Lemanis and father in law to Susan Lemanis.

Dear brother to Liliana McGee and brother in law to Wesley & Susan Bridge and Janet & Bill Tulloch.

Uncle to Clark Bridge, Jason (Trudy) Bridge, Jim Bridge, Ashley (Luc) Boulanger, Theresa (Fabian) Theriault and many great nieces and nephews.

Gerts was predeceased by his parents Teodors and Biruta (nee Nesaule) Lemanis as well as brother in law Tom McGee and sister in law Sally Wood. Gerts grew up in Garson, Ontario. He began his career as an engineer with CN in Capreol, Ontario.

After many moves he retired in 2019 from the Land Transport Authority in Singapore and settled in Oshawa.

He loved to cook, fish, watch curling, baseball and home improvement shows, but his greatest achievement was his family and he loved to watch Carson play hockey and basketball. He and his quick wit will be greatly missed!

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date .
