It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Harry Blackwell after a long, courageous battle with cancer.
Harry passed peacefully on March 25, 2022 at the age of 89, surrounded by his loving family.
A beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
Harry will be forever remembered by the love of his life and wife of 64 years, Helen (nee Solecki); his children: Chris (Bruce), Steve (Lynn), Diane (Brent); and his grandchildren: Brett (Nattaly), Aly (Thomas), Jayden, and Rylan. He will also be dearly missed by his close friends.
Harry’s loving heart was a beacon of light to all that had the pleasure to know him.
He had an uncanny ability to make everyone laugh and was an amazing storyteller.
If you were to measure a man by his kindness, his unconditional love, and his courage, it is no wonder he is known by his family as “Superman”.
The family thanks his caring doctors, all his caregivers, and his angel nurse, Vilma, for making his final days as comfortable as possible.

Treasured Nannie to Tamara, Jennifer, Nicole, Vanessa (Ross), Cameron (Soleil) and Kyle. She was overjoyed to be a great grandmother to 14 and great great grandmother to 4.
Toddy will be missed by her two surviving sisters Laura and Nancy and is now reunited with her parents and siblings.
Adored aunt to many nieces and nephews. She will forever be known as Nannie to those who loved her near and far.

Loving father to Marlene Mitchelmore (Ken) of Woodville and David Cameron (Margaret) of Peterborough.
Inspiring grandfather of Cameron Mitchelmore, Aidan Mitchelmore and Thomas Cameron.
Hugh was predeceased by his loving wife Wilma Cameron (nee Adair) and by his older siblings Bernice Jones (nee Cameron) and husband Lorne, Lloyd Cameron and wife Rhea, Edna Cameron, Bill Cameron and wife Marie.
Hugh, Dad or Grandad will be remembered as a kind and generous father and grandfather. Never one to waste a minute, he was always busy with hockey, playing over the span of 8 decades into his 80s and coaching numerous hockey teams.
Hugh was inducted into 80+ Hockey Hall of Fame in 2016, and the Lindsay and District Sports Hall of Fame in 2019. Hugh also enjoyed building homes with his company Cameron Construction, camping and woodworking.
He facilitated community initiatives while serving on the Municipality of Woodville Council for many years.
Hugh will be remembered for his kind heart, his calm and supportive temperament, his sportsmanship, camping adventures, and the almost permanent smile he wore on his face.

When recently told to have a good time when leaving to attend a family event he replied “I always do”.
