May 17, 1925 - December 19, 2019It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Frances Lorena Flemming, who passed away peacefully at Taunton Mills Retirement Home in Whitby, Ontario, on December 19, 2019, in her 95th year.Predeceased by her beloved husband of 63 years William Crawford Flemming of Halifax, Nova Scotia.Devoted and loving daughter of Coleman "Pup" and Olive Tree Munro of Summerville, Nova Scotia.Mum graduated from nursing school in 1947 at Paysant Memorial Hospital in Windsor, Nova Scotia.Mum's nursing background carried with her all her life always having a solution for any injury or sickness using old time methods. Mum's talents and accomplishments are innumerable and friends beyond number.Her mannerisms were steeped in her maritime past and anyone who knew her was exposed to her friendliness and hospitality.She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She was modest about her abilities, be it in tailoring, music, writing, painting, or volunteer work.Predeceased by her parents and 13 siblings: sisters Helen, Hazel, Delta, Ida, Fae, Rae, Minnie, Carrie and Mae; and brothers John, Edward, Donald and Art. Survived by her sister Dora MacKenzie of Montaque, PEI, her 8 children Margaret, William (Donna Stewart), Patricia, Deborah, Mary, Susan, Michael (Chantal Barrette) and Mark (Christine Lyew), 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. A special thank you to Sissy for her kindness, caring and support over the years.Thank you to Therese Kramer for her extra special caregiving these last months. Thank you to the staff of Taunton Mills for their kindness and extraordinary care as well as the volunteers and many friends she liked to serve tea and cookies to in the evening.A Funeral Mass will be scheduled at a future date in Holy Family Church, 91 Ribblesdale Drive, Whitby, Ontario.

Flossie resided in Belleville for 22 years, she worked at Belleville General Hospital for 6 years and attended Calvary Temple Church.She moved to Oshawa in 1966 and was employed at Oshawa General Hospital for 23 years and retired in 1988, she remarried to George McGhee and spent 9 winters in Florida, living in Midland, Ontario in the summers.She became a widow in 2001 and moved back to Oshawa where she became a permanent resident.Flossie was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother.She was always supportive and an inspiration. She will be dearly missed by her family.A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Oshawa Funeral Home on Sunday, November 17th, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. with visitation taking place one hour prior, followed by a short reception.

Fan - After a very long difficult battle with his illness, Ruisheng Fan passed away at home peacefully on Tuesday, November 5th, 2019 at the age of 75.He will always be remembered by his wife, Shulan Ma; son Yu Fan and his wife Yun Li; daughter Jin Fournier and her husband Joseph Fournier; grandchildren Winston Fournier, Wilhelm Fournier, Alex Fan, and Zoey Fan.Ruisheng was born November 25th, 1943 from a humble family in DaTong, China.He approached life with great curiosity and bravely moved to Canada in 1995 at the age of 52.He was very wise, diligent, meticulous, handy, and caring. Through hard work and thrift, he earned his respect.He loved to read and made books his best friends.He has been battling furiously with illness and medical complications for many years.Finally he is able to rest peacefully in heaven.Visitation at McEachnie Funeral Home, Ajax, November 8, 2019 at 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM followed by Memorial Service.
