On Wednesday, May 3, 2017, our Mother, Irene, ended her battle with cancer.She is survived by her loving and devoted family.Husband, Bryan; children Shayne, Derek (wife Jennifer), grandchildren Elliot and Gabriel, Olivia, Calaia and Georgia, her sisters, Simone, Liz, Gertrude and Tina, her father Pearce Louisy and her many Aunts, Uncles, Godchildren, Nieces, Nephews and a wonderful circle of friends in St. Lucia, Canada, and around the world.This past year living with this illness was extremely difficult.The amount of suffering our mother endured was truly unimaginable but through it all, she fought with faith, love, hope, courage, and dignity.She taught us all so many lessons along this journey which are now part of her legacy.Our mother always believed that there was value and merit through suffering. (August 27, 1933 - April 26, 2017) - After a short battle, Irving Howard "Irv" Dundas passed away peacefully in Toronto early Wednesday morning, April 26, 2017, at the age of 83.Survived by the immediate family he was devoted to - daughter Deborah (Patrick McCormick), son Andrew (Kim Ritchie) and grandchildren Abigail and Matthew McCormick and Lindsay and Ben Dundas.He will be greatly missed by brother James Dundas (Sue) of Buckhorn and Janice Pearce (Bruce) of Edmonton, sister-in-law Ida Dundas (Frank) of Mississauga and his many nieces and nephews.Irv was predeceased by his mother Dorothy, father Charles, brother Franklyn, sisters Alma Jarvis and Elizabeth (Betty) Hamon, brothers-in-law Malcolm Hamon and Joe Jarvis and nephews David Dundas and Joe Jarvis Jr.Irv battled cancer many times over the years - in his early 20s and again in his 70s and 80s. He made the most out of life, making friends and drawing smiles and laughter wherever he went - whether the golfing community at Scarlett Woods Golf Course, his neighbours in his hometown of Toronto and, more recently, in Whitby.He made a point of getting to know people, giving help and guidance where he thought it was needed and always providing a supportive and loving presence. And he always loved a good get together.Many thanks to the team on the 10th floor at Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto for their care and support and to the staff at Bridgepoint Health where he spent his final few days in palliative care.Family and friends are invited to join us in remembering Irv and celebrating his life at the Newediuk Funeral Home, W.C.
