It is with great sadness and loving memories that the family of Kevin Whyte announces his passing on June 20, 2021 surrounded by the love of his family at Lakeridge Health Oshawa, at the age of 65 after a brief battle with cancer.

Kevin was born and raised in Oshawa and had many happy childhood memories and tales to tell from summers spent at the family cottage on Tait Lake near Bancroft with friends, family and his many cousins.
He had a love for music and the uncanny ability to pick up any instrument and play it.
Kevin also loved his sports, especially hockey, and after a work accident at age 19 left him no longer able to participate, he took to coaching the Leafs from his spot in front of the TV.
He was an animal lover and a great cook whose family will certainly miss his delicious meals, along with his witty one-liners.

God saw you getting tired, a cure not meant to be. So he put his arms around you and whispered “Come with me.”
With tearful eyes we watched you and saw you fade away,
although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay.
A golden heart stopped beating, your tender hands at rest.
God took you home to prove to us he only takes the best.
