Norman George Jurchison
Passed away peacefully at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Thursday, August 30th, 2018 at the age of 66.Fondly remembered as “Stormin Norman” leaves behind his 3 sons; Steven (Janese), Scott and Raymond, 2 grandchildren; Emmitt and Maya, and his two sisters Patti Hainer (Art) and Carol Laplante (Gilles).He has joined his parents Janet and Steven Jurchison, and his siblings Lloyd, Gilbert, Bruce and Johnny.As per the family wishes, cremation will take place. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Norman Scarth
Longtime member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #43, as well as a veteran of the British Forces.Born in England, September 29, 1938, passed away in Oshawa August 31, 2018.Passed away peacefully Friday, August 31, 2018 at the Lakeridge Health Oshawa in his 80th year.Norm will be dearly missed by his loving friends James, Gary, Tommy, and his family at the Legion Manner in Oshawa.A special thank you to all the Doctors and Nurses on 7C at Lakeridge Health Oshawa for their compassionate care.As per Norm’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no formal funeral services.Memorial donations are appreciated to the R.S. Nancy Ross McKean
(February 19, 1927 - August 25, 2018) Nancy passed peacefully in her sleep at Lakeridge Health Hospital in Oshawa.She was married for 66 years to her late husband Bud.She was the last surviving member of the "Culley" girls, her sisters, Violet and Olivia and her brother Victor.Nancy loved all kinds of music. She played piano and loved to sing along to any tunes that were playing. She also loved butterflies and had many butterfly decorations and photos.Although born in Toronto, Nancy was very proud of her Irish roots, often talking about her parents home of Port Rush.She is survived by her son Rob and his wife Dorothy and her favourite dog Kipper.A celebration of life will be held on October 28th from 1-5 p.m. at the Whitby Legion for both Nancy and Bud.

Nancy (Anne Frances) Roy
Passed away peacefully at home surrounded by the love of her family on Monday July 9, 2018, aged 85.Born in Athlone, Ireland on September 19, 1932, daughter of the late Michael & Margaret O’Connor.Predeceased by her husband, Gerard Roy.Beloved mother of the late Paul Smith, and of Yvonne Parnell, Mark Smith (Jo-Ann), Solo Chansa Kaunda and Elita Munsha Chalwe.Cherished by her grandchildren Jess Smith; James & Tom Parnell; Adam, Andrew & Laura Smith; and Katherine Palesch.Loving sister to Kathleen Weatherstone and Patricia Warner of Vancouver and aunt to her many nephews and nieces. Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and dear friend to many, she will never be forgotten.She is predeceased by her brothers James, Michael, Jack, Thomas, and Dermot and by her sisters Betty (Russell), Margaret (Menton), and Pauline (Monks). Beloved sister-in-law of Des Warner, Bina O’Connor and Pauline O’Connor.Nancy loved her family, friends, music, dance and travel. She performed in Gilbert & Sullivan operettas in Ireland for years before immigrating to Canada. She was a soloist in her church choirs over the years.She was an Irish Dance champion in Ireland and later opened her own dance studio in Montreal. She lived a faith-filled life serving as a member of the CWL for 65 years as member and President and volunteering at St. Vincent’s Kitchen in Oshawa. Special thanks to Dr. Richard Kalnins & Dr. Robert Zeldin and their staff for their wonderful health care. Particular thanks to Janett Cabototan and Cynthia Tan who provided exceptional palliative care in Nancy’s home for her last three months. Norman ‘Norm’ George Gray
(April 15, 1934 - July 11, 2018) - Passed away suddenly at home on Wednesday July 11th, 2018.He was a loving husband to Eleanor for 25 years and the late Sheila Chilcott. Dear devoted father to Donald Gray (predeceased 2006), James Gray (Brenda) of Osoyoos BC, and Stuart Gray (Karen) of Pembroke.Loving stepfather to Donna Eastwood (Bob), Stephen Wearn (Leah) and Susanne Callery (Patrick). A loved Grandpa to 8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.A special Grandpa to several step grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Norm enjoyed skiing until two years ago. The cottage on Dickey Lake that he built with his boys and friend Chuck was his sanctuary.Norm taught at Donevan Collegiate as the science department head for 32 years. He was an active volunteer with Meals on Wheels and the Cancer Society.
