Passed away suddenly on Tuesday, July 30th, 2024, at the age of 63. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Ann-Marie, his children, Andrew (Kendra) and Laura, his sister Janice, niece Christie, nephew Pat (Brittany) and great nephews Ryan, Mason and great niece Harper, his cousin Sherri and brother-in-law Stephen Butler (Kathi). Kevin will always be remembered for his love of travel, music and dancing like nobody’s watching. A celebration of life will be held at a future date.

GRYGORCEWICZ, Erna Grygorcewicz -
October 4, 1931 – August 21, 2024
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Erna Grygorcewicz, peacefully surrounded by her family at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Wednesday, August 21st, 2024. Predeceased by her loving and cherished husband Waclaw (Bill). Erna will be deeply missed by her children Irene (Roman) and Robert.
Cherished and proud Oma of Alysse and Marc. Erna was the daughter of the Late Alice and Julius Trantau. Erna spent much quality time with family, and entertaining them and friends, as well. She loved to cook, bake, garden, and enjoyed any special milestone.
She was deeply rooted in her Catholic faith and was an active parishioner of St. Hedwig’s Roman Catholic Church since 1956. Erna will be deeply missed by her family, many friends, neighbours, family across the globe and anyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Visitation will be held at the OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West (905-721-1234) on Sunday, August 25th from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. HEDWIG’S PARISH, 411 Olive Avenue, Oshawa on Monday, August 26th at 11:00 a.m.

GORMLEY, James Gormley -
July 24 1947 - August 17th 2024
After a short illness and hospital stay, James Gormley passed away at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on August 17th, 2024 at the age of 77.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Helen, his daughter Erin O’Neill and her husband Aaron and the two lights of his life his grandchildren Gavin (Big Guy) and Ashleigh (Princess).
He is also survived by his sisters Theresa Diver (Peter) and Mary Sinclair (Ian), Sister in law Maureen Gormley.
His brothers in law Jim Irvine, William Brannan, Bill Carson (Shirley) and sister in laws Judith Dorais and Maggie Carson. James had many special people pass before him that include his parents Michael and Jane Gormley, his brother Benny, his sisters Michelle, Jeannie and Cissie, brother in laws John Harrison, Charlie Carson and Adrien Dorais. His niece Jane Diver and nephew Laird Harrison.
Also, his mother in law who he shared a very special bond with-Christina Carson. Most importantly, James was pre-deceased by his son Paul who passed away in 2002 and was waiting for him with open arms and a pint. James leaves behind his best friends Tommy and Sue Masterman as well as many nieces, nephews and friends he’s made along his wonderful life who meant so much to him.
James had so many loves in his 77 years from golf, music, trivia, Montreal Canadiens, his family, friends and of course his beloved Glasgow Celtic.
A visitation will be held on Friday August 30th from 4-8pm at Oshawa Funeral Home, 847 King Street West (905-721-1234). A celebration of life will take place on Saturday August 31st from 1-6 at the Durham Celtic Club, 110 Ash Street, Whitby. The Celtic Club was James’ second home, and its members are graciously hosting us in one of his favorite places. We hope you can join us and his family on this special day.
Due to space limitations, we ask that you visit to share a pint and toast James, being mindful of others who wish to do the same.
We encourage you to wear your Celtic gear or green/white for the occasion.
Our family would like to thank the staff at LHO G wing 6th floor who went out of their way to keep James comfortable until the end. In lieu of flowers, we kindly request donations to Cystic Fibrosis Canada or the Alzheimer Society, both causes very dear to James.

GIROUX, Rita Marina (nee CAMERON) - It is with extreme sorrow we announce the passing of Rita Marina Giroux of Pickering, Ontario, in her 88th year (December 30, 1935 - August 9, 2024).
Rita is survived by her beloved husband of 69 Years, Wilfred (Tony) Giroux; children, Leslie (Dave), Larry (Lisa), Lynn (Marty) and Leanne.
Forever in the hearts of her grandchildren, Heather, Matthew, Kyle, Kory, Jessie, Jackie, Evan and Adam. Beloved GG to Elena, Nash, Nixon, Lily, Parker, Lucas, Natalie, Nicholas, Noel, Kalvin, and Nash.
Predeceased by her parents, Jean and John Cameron; and her dear brothers, Stew, Jimmy and Bill.
A celebration of life will be held at a date in the near future.
GALLOGLEY, Charles William – Peacefully at Lakeridge Health Oshawa with his family by his side on August 5, 2024 at the age of 93.
Charlie was born in Port Whitby on July 1, 1931 to his parents Daniel and Jessie Powell. He was married to Jean Marguerite Sleightholm on June 11, 1955. They had just celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary.
He worked at General Motors for 7 years before joining the Oshawa Police in 1957.
He had the task of setting up the new youth bureaus across Durham Region under the new Durham Regional Police.
He was awarded Policeman of the Year for this task in 1975.
Charlie was involved with the Eastview Boys and Girls Club, he was on the Board of Directors and President for a year. In 1984, he was the recipient of the Policeman of the Year award presented by the Optimist Club for outstanding work
that he had done for the town of Whitby.
Charlie has a passion for the great outdoors, hunting and fishing, which he passed onto his son,
grandson and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife Jean, son Dan (Kim), grandchildren Paul (Jenna), Shannon (Mike), Amber (Ritchie), great-grandchildren Cole, Charlie, Sienna and Jackson, step great-grandchildren Rickson and Sabrina, sister in law Sheila Atkinson, brother in law John Shepherd and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Charlie was preceded in death by his parents Daniel and Jessie, his sisters Betty Alexander (Alec) Maureen Simcock, Sheila Mclaren (Al), brothers in law Jim Watson (Lois), Stan Atkinson, Alec McDonald (Maureen) and sister in law Kathy Shepherd.
The family if Charles wish to thank Lakeridge Health Oshawa, his caregivers at Viva Retirement Home, personal caregiver Nelson and all of his family that were there for him.
A Celebration of Life will be held later in the fall.

Waleria was a proud employee of Sklar Pepler and retired after many years there as a sewer. She was extremely proud of all of her family and enjoyed spending time with them.

Born in Porcupine, Ontario, on July 19, 1930, passed away at Columbia Forest Nursing Home in Waterloo on August 4, 2024, at the age of 94 to be with his precious Saviour Jesus.
He is predeceased by his wife of 73 years Peggy Gallinger and his parents Harold and Armina Gallinger.
Arn is much loved by his daughter Debra Bitonti (Sam) and his son Walter Gallinger (Marilee); five grandchildren - Crystal Bezusko (Luke), Jenna Leite (Jason), Samantha Jean (Guillaume), Erik Gallinger (Shayna), and April Steegstra (Caleb); nine great-grandchildren - Lyla and Easton Bezusko, Isabelle and Madeleine Leite, Benjamin, Evelyn and Shepherd Steegstra, and Harper and Bowen Gallinger.

GREEN, Lorraine Freida (nee FINKELSTEIN) Green - Lorraine Green, 85 of Toronto, passed away peacefully at home July 9, 2024.
Lorraine was born on August 31, 1938, to Bessie and Harry Finkelstein in Toronto, Ontario.
Lorraine attended Ryerson Polytechnical Institute and graduated as an registered nurse. She married Gerald Stanley Green in 1965 and together had one child, Paul.
Lorraine worked as a nurse and was dedicated to her profession, retiring from Baycrest Hospital. Lorraine was an avid traveler, and her favorite destination was Jamaica.
She was very passionate about supporting less fortunate children and families, often bringing supplies and toys to those in need during her many visits.
Lorraine is survived by her son, Paul Jason Green and grandchild, Stephanie Thornhill.
She will be missed, may her memory be a blessing.
