Georgoula ‘Georgia’ Erodotou

Georgoula ‘Georgia’ Erodotou

Listed in

It is with extraordinary sadness that we announce the passing of the matriarch of our family.

The world has lost a beautiful soul and our lives will never be the same.

Georgoula ‘Georgia’ Erodotou was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.

She left this world suddenly on March 3, 2021 at the age of 73.

She was born to Costadinos and Theodora Aristidou on May 10, 1947 in Limassol, Cyprus.

At the age of 24, she married her beloved husband Christodoulos ‘Chris’ Erodotou and emigrated to Toronto.

This summer they would have celebrated 50 years of marriage.

Together, they had 2 children: Chrisa (husband Kirk) and Dino (wife Maria). Georgia was also the very proud grandmother of eight beautiful grandchildren, Christian, Lucas, Cyrus, Gia,(Chrisa) & Demetri, Elaina, Anthony and Angelica (Dino). All of her grandchildren adored her as she always took time to not only care for them but play and engage with them.

Georgia was a dedicated employee at Trench Electric for many years. Her work ethic and energy was a force to be reckoned with, both at work and in the vegetable garden. When everyone else had called it a day, Georgia was still working hard.

The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Georgia. She loved to watch the birds and squirrels at the cottage, delighting in their play. Georgia also loved spending time in the kitchen, creating delicious meals for her family. This was where she shone the brightest. Georgia loved to garden, read and search the beach for treasures.

Her kindness, sincerity, and honesty shone from her heart like a beacon of light. She loved to laugh and always made those around her feel special and deeply loved. She will be profoundly missed. We will cherish our memories of her forever.

Besides her children, grandchildren and husband, Georgia is survived by her sisters Mauro (Kyriakos), Eleni (Stelios), Vathoula and her many beloved nieces and nephews.

A funeral will be held on Monday, March 8th at 11 a.m. at Evangelismos, Saints Nectarios and Gerasimos Greek Orthodox Church at 399 Farewell Street, Oshawa.

Burial services will follow at Thornton Cemetery at 1200 Thornton Road North.

Georgia loved to help children. Please consider a donation to The Refuge Outreach Centre in Oshawa to honour her memory.

Their skilled care gave her the gift of dying of old age and not from Covid.

A private service celebrating the lives of Jerry and Ernie will be held in the spring.

In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to the Alzheimer Society to help find a cure for this terrible disease, so someday in the future other families won’t have to lose a loved one, one memory at a time.

Giuseppa ‘Pina’ Di Ciccio

Giuseppa ‘Pina’ Di Ciccio

Listed in

It is with profound sadness that the Di Ciccio family announces the peaceful passing of Giuseppa "Pina" DiCiccio on February 7, 2021 at the age of 84.

Pina was born March 19, 1936 in Castiglione di Casauria, Italy to Octavio and Annunziata Fasciani.

She resided in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and will be lovingly remembered by her children Pasqualino and his wife Mischelle, Samuele,Stefano and his wife Isabelle.

She will be cherished by her grandchildren Roni, Tori, Lucas, Ali, Matteo and Luca, as well as great-granddaughter Sofia.

She is predeceased by her younger siblings Biagio and Ginia and survived by her sisters Eda and Dina along with many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Pina immigrated to Canada in 1969 with little formal education and was a seamstress by trade.

In her early years in Canada, she would look after young children during the day and sew late into every night, working hard to raise her boys as a single mother.

As her children grew, she landed work as a secretary at their school and went on to manage a small health food store for about 15 years until she retired.

She was profoundly proud of "her store" and took great pride in her work and everything she did but her greatest passions were her family and her faith.

She was a devoted Seventh-Day Adventist always putting her faith first regardless of the numerous challenges life threw at her. She was a ray of sunshine, always smiling and was loved by all who came to know her.

Due to COVID restrictions, the visitation and funeral services will be held privately by invitation only.

While the family wishes you could all be with them in their time of loss, they appreciate your kind words and condolences Rest in Peace Mom.
