After a courageous battle with ALS, Tom passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at the early age of 59 at Uxbridge Cottage Hospital. Cherished husband of Wendy for 34 years. (March 10th, 1938 – June 27th, 2016)Our family sadly announces the death of our beloved husband, father and grandfather in Whitby, Ontario on the afternoon of Monday, June 27th, 2016. Tom was the loved husband of the late Dianne (Townsend, 1992) and Patricia (Millard, Brooks). Together they supported and guided their children, Jeffrey (Shona) and Michael (Tina), and Jeffrey (Yvonne) and Scott (Lisa) (stepsons) and their grandchildren Colin, Carson, Julia, Grayden and Nolan (Eades); Gregory, Natasha, Cameron, Evan, Julia, and Ryan (Brooks). Tom was born in Tillsonburg on March 10th, 1938 to Clarence and Hilda. He remained close to his sister Margaret Rose Horton (Eades) who has been a lifelong resident of Tillsonburg.As a young adult Tom found his passion and challenge in sales beginning with Acme Paper. As well as playing many other sports, he had a passion for squash and baseball and played well into his middle adult years. He was a “people person” who loved to tell real life “Tommy stories”. For many years Tom cherished his time at the cottage with family and friends on Lake Scugog and later at the cottage in Gananonque, and more recently on Cheer Lake.Throughout the years when he was plagued with multiple health problems, he always maintained a positive, cheerful outlook. Tom will be dearly missed by family and friends..
