June 23, 1941 to March 28, 2016It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Tom. Tom passed away peacefully at Oshawa Lakeridge Health surrounded by his loving family after fighting a year-long battle with cancer.Tom is survived by his loving wife of over 51 years, Lena (Murphy) Griffin, his son Gerry and wife April of Grimsby and his daughter Susan and husband Rob Walmsley of Oshawa.Loved grandfather of Meaghan, Blake, Eric, Bryan and Mark. Great-Grandfather of Ella, William, Zoe and Mason.Predeceased by his parents Joe and Nellie Griffin and beautiful sister Iris. Dear brother to Patrick (Betty) Griffin of Shannon, Quebec.A celebration of Tom’s life will be held at ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME, 124 King Street E, Oshawa on Sunday, April 3, 2016 from 2pm – 4pm and 7pm – 9pm.The funeral mass will be held at St. Gertrude’s Church, 690 King Street E, Oshawa on Monday, April 4, 2016, at 10:00 am.A special thanks to the wonderful care given by the staff at Oshawa Lakeridge Health, especially his primary nurse, Carrie.The kindness and compassion given to our family did not go unnoticed or unappreciated.In lieu of flowers, donations to Cystic Fibrosis Canada would be appreciated by the family.

January 18, 1927 - January 29, 2016Passed away at his home in the early hours of Friday, January 29th, 2016 shortly after his 89th birthday. Born to the late John and Pauline Peleshok of Oshawa, he was predeceased by four of his siblings, Mary (Hobbs) (Jack), Steve (Rose), Alex (Dorothy) and Bill (Judy) and is survived by his brother Harry (Audrey). Husband of the late Ruth Peleshok and father to Anna (Doug) Roth, John (Dorothy), Susan (Bruce) Mitchell, Lois (Robert) Savage, David (Diane) and Grace (Domenic) Vescio. Grandfather to Rebecca (Josh), Victoria, Dan, Sharon (Owen), Ken (Shelly), Heidi (Dave), Angela (Bryan), Jesse, Danielle (Clayton), Julie, Nick, Sam, Crystal (Lee), Richard, Rachael, Heather, Jay (Christine), Mike (Rebecca), Angelina and Caterina. Great grandfather to Hope, Grace, Cole, Andy, Ellie, Emma, Bea, Asher, Keenan, Finley, Ryker, Jude, Max and Noah. Having apprenticed as a plasterer in Oshawa he also worked in General Motors for 39 years. He was involved in the Oshawa City Council and Regional Council for many years. His love of music allowed him to play in both a Ukrainian orchestra as well as the Oshawa Symphony Orchestra. A memorial service will be held at CALVARY BAPTIST CHURCH, (formerly the Wesleyan Methodist Church), 301 Rossland Rd. E, Oshawa on Friday, March 11th at 11:00.
