It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye, after courageous battles with cancer, to our Mami, Oma and Baba on April 8th, 2014 at the age of 82.Asja was the daughter of the late Larissa Nikolajewna-Stonskaja (1979) and Gregori Plinokos (1938), granddaughter of Baron Nikolai Stonskoy and Dame Valentina Smokowskaja and Pawel and Hascha Plinokos, sister of the late Irina (2010) and Nikolai Schtscherbina (2011) and beloved wife of the late Fred Radermacher (1991).She leaves behind her devoted and loving daughter Margrit Voisin (Sean) her grandsons Gregory (Eda) and Matthew (Rebecca) Malcolm and her great-grandchildren William, Emma and Abagail.Born on Dec. 3, 1931 in Simferopol in the Crimean Peninsula, to her mother Larissa a noble woman, and her father Gregori, Minister of Agriculture and Foreign Affairs. Asja had a prestigious upbringing with governesses and private schools. As her father held political position in several places. Her favourite was Sverdlovks in the Ural Mountains where her pastimes were skiing, sharp shooting and picking wild strawberries with her father in the outskirts of their summer home. The family lived most of the time in Kiev and Kharkov until 1938 at which time her father was annihilated by the Stalin regime. The family left Russia as refugees and arrived in Germany in the 1940s.In 1950 Asja married Fred Radermacher, a law student at the University in Erlangen, Germany.  Margrit their only child was born in 1951. Her family emigrated to Canada in 1952 and Asja, Fred and Margrit followed in 1962.In Canada, Asja worked most of her life for the German Community Newspaper in accounting.Asja was a beautiful woman who cherished her looks and health all of her life. She was blessed with good health until diabetes entered in 1992, a demon she battled with all of her strength and controlled it with amazing precision. Cancer struck the first time in 2003 and she attacked it with the same vigour. She was a great admirer of the arts, loving ballet, music and opera. She enjoyed oil painting and loved painting Sunflowers, which she remembered from her native Russia. She was an amazing cook and did lovely knittings. One always knew where Asja and Fred lived as they had the most luscious and colourful gardens. Asja had a super green thumb and grew flowers, plants and vegetables. In the 1980s a gardening magazine took pictures of her huge pink roses that stood like soldiers in her front lawn garden.Asja was a free spirit and called herself the original bohemian. Her explosive personality only matched her love of life. Travel safe Mami. Ya tyebya lyublyU.The family wishes to thank Asjas medical staff at Bowmanville Hospital 2nd floor, especially nurses Kim, Julia, Rachel and Dr. Chou.Thank you to all of her friends at Forestry Place.Visitation will be held at NORTHCUTT ELLIOTT FUNERAL HOME, 53 Division Street North, Bowmanville, on Friday April 11th from 10-11 am.  The Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel at 11 am.
