MANTZORIS, Christina  -  Loving mother and yiayia, passed away at the age of 81, on July 31, 2024, after a short yet valiant battle with an aggressive cancer.

She leaves behind her beloved husband, Jim Mantzoris of almost 63 years; and her loving children, Tina, John (wife, Patricia), Michael, and William (wife, Tracey); as well as her adored grandchildren, Jamie, Kristin, Kate, Mimi, James, and Gabrielle.

Her final hours were spent peacefully, at Mt. Sinai Hospital in Toronto, surrounded by her family.

Christina was born in Kotylion, Greece, in 1943 and was the daughter of the late Michalis and Vasiliki (nee Kotsavra) Michelis. She immigrated to Canada in 1959 at the age of 16 and married her loving husband, Jim, in 1961 in London, Ontario.

Eventually, they settled down in Toronto, where they created a beautiful life together.

She was proud of her children for their educational pursuits and accomplishments. In addition, she adored and doted on her grandchildren. There wasn't anything she wouldn't do for them.

She will be remembered for her devotion to her family and to God, her authenticity, kindness, patience, and honesty. Thank you to the wonderful nursing and medical staff at Mt. Sinai. on floor 10S. for their compassion, care. and support. Christina will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Visitation will be held at Heritage Funeral Centre, 50 Overlea Blvd., on Monday, August 5, 2024. from 4-8 p.m. Funeral service will be held at All Saints Greek Orthodox Church, 3125 Bayview Ave., Toronto, on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow.

In lieu of flowers. donations can be made to Mt. Sinai Hospital, Princess Margaret Hospital, or the Cancer Society.

The family announces with great sadness the passing of Albert Mihaly on Monday July 29, 2024, at North York General Hospital at 83 years of age.

Beloved son of the late Helen Kovacs and Albert Mihaly Sr., Albert will be lovingly remembered by Elizabeth, his wife and friend of 60 years, his daughters Audra (Joe), Janet, Allison (Ryan), and Joanne, his nine grandchildren Ryan, Sean, Kristen, Kylie, Mackenzie, Ty, Brody, Samantha and Nathan, as well as his cousin Yolie, sisters-in-law Mary and Theresa, niece Barbara, and nephew John.

Born in Montreal, Quebec on November 23, 1940, Albert graduated from Concordia University with a Bachelor of Commerce degree leading to many years of service with Imperial Oil before retiring in 1998.

Albert’s greatest joy was spending time with his family at the cottage.

He engaged in numerous activities including fishing, bridge, gardening, as well as art, coin and stamp collecting.

He played an advisory role to family and friends by sharing his wealth of knowledge of investing in the stock market. He appreciated the theater and proudly cheered for the Detroit Red Wings and the Toronto Blue Jays.

We will miss his joie de vivre! Albert respectfully requested a private church service to be held for immediate family.

Donations in his memory may be made to any of the Canadian Cancer Society, the Canadian Diabetes Association, or The Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.

Peacefully, at Headwaters Healthcare Centre on July 31, 2024, in her 75th year; beloved wife of Lorne Moore for 53 years; and dearly missed by her two cats, Remy and Lexi.

Sharon was predeceased by her mother, father and three brothers. Sharon was born and raised in Niagara Falls, and lived in North Bay and Temagami in her early childhood.

She graduated in 1971 from the Osler School of Nursing and was married to Lorne the same year.

Upon graduation, Sharon spent 25 years working at York Finch General Hospital in the Emergency Department. The last ten years of her career at York Finch General Hospital, Sharon became the nurse manager of the Emergency Department and other departments affiliated with emergency.

Her last 14 years of nursing were in private practice.

Lorne and Sharon have spent 38 years living in Caledon, where she spent countless hours caring for her many garden beds. She always considered it a labour of love and a place of relaxation and pride for her home. Sharon will be remembered for her cheerfulness, generosity, kindness, humour and enduring optimism.

The family wishes to thank Mike and Mark Sant, and nephew, Alex Giovinazzo, for their love and support during these trying times.

Sharon's wishes were to be cremated and interred at a later date with her husband, Lorne.

There will be no celebration of life, as Sharon wanted to be remembered as she was by those that loved her. In lieu of flowers, donations to your local SPCA/Humane Society would be appreciated.

Lois will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her family, friends and watercolour and china painting friends. Lois dedicated her life to a career in Nursing and Nursing Administration.

She was proud to be a St. Michael's School of Nursing Graduate, Class of 1943 and Alumnae Member.

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Barb Maxwell, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, who departed this world on July 4, 2024, at the age of 87.

Barb was the cornerstone of our family; a beacon of strength, love, and unwavering support.

Barb had a passion for life that touched everyone around her. She was the cherished wife of Rod, her partner and confidant for over 65 years. Together, they created a family full of love and laughter; raising their two daughters in a home where warmth and kindness flourished.

She taught us the importance of family, the joy of pursuing our passions, and the beauty of a life well-lived. Barb leaves behind her devoted husband, Rod Maxwell; her loving children, Alex Maxwell-Leech (Charles) and Pam Maxwell-Steele (Andrew); her four adored grandchildren, Hudson, James, Cecelia, and Piper; her sisters, Brenda Curliss and Lynda Ritchie; as well as a wide circle of dear friends and extended family. She will be profoundly missed by all who knew her.

A funeral service will be held at St. Andrew's United Church, 117 Bloor St. E., Toronto, at 10 a.m., on Wednesday, August 28th, with a reception to follow.
