DEVITT, Amy Danielle June Devitt - Monday, January 3rd, 1994 - Tuesday, September 3rd, 2024
Passed away suddenly at home on September 3rd, 2024 in Oshawa at the age of 30. Loved and cherished by her partner Cory Stabellini. Survived by her father Daniel Chartrand of Alberta and predeceased by her mother Susan Devitt (2023). Sadly missed by grandmother June Lavender, uncle David Devitt, half-sister Dani Chartrand and numerous cousins, aunts and uncles of Western Canada.
Amy will also be sadly missed by her dog Stevie. May she rest in peace surrounded by daisies.

At the Oak Ridges Hospice in Port Perry, Ontario on Sunday September 1, 2024, one week after her 83rd birthday.
Born in Rannyhual, Donegal, Ireland in 1941 to Bridget & Charles Rodgers, Rose lived many years in both Auchtermuchty & Glasgow, Scotland before she and husband Jim emigrated to Canada in 1967.
Rose loved teaching and worked for the DCDSB at the elementary level before teaching Art, Religion & Cooking at Msgr. Paul Dwyer Catholic High School, retiring in 1996. She returned to Dwyer in 1998 to serve as Chaplain for a time. In her retirement she volunteered teaching many in the St. Therese community of schools lessons in preparation for First Confession, First Communion, and Confirmation.
Rose is predeceased by her husband Jim (2010) and daughter Marian (2019). She is lovingly remembered by her son Allan Delaney (Sarah) & daughter Colleen Schneider (Michael).
Forever to be missed as the Dean of Nana School by her cherished grandchildren Declan Lloyd (Sami), Andrew Lloyd, Delaney Lloyd, William Delaney (Jade), Caitlin Lloyd and Jack Delaney (Daniella).
Deeply missed by brother Patrick Rodgers (Grace) in England and sisters-in-law Anne Downie and Patricia Morrow in Scotland and their families and by her nieces, nephews, and many cousins and relations in Ireland, Scotland, England and Canada. Predeceased by her brother Michael (2014), and sisters Anne (1960) & Mary (1959).
Fondly remembered by the Carr and Arthurs clans who were family to Rose through friendship here in Canada as well as Fr. Norbert Glasmacher, who has been a dear family friend for many years.
The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the extraordinary staff and volunteers of the Oak Ridges Hospice; Nurse Raina of the VHA; Kari from OH@H & the many PSWs for their exceptional care of Rose. Thank you to the St. Gertrude’s community for their kindness and prayers especially Fr. Michael & Rose McIntosh and to Mamie in Ireland for always keeping a candle lit.
A visitation for Rose will be held Wednesday, September 11, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Courtice Funeral Chapel, 1587 Highway #2, Courtice, ON L1E2R7. A committal service will occur Thursday, September 12, 2024 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, 355 Taunton Rd E, Whitby, ON L1R 3L4. A funeral service will occur Thursday, September 12, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM at St Gertrude's Catholic Church, 690 King St E, Oshawa, ON L1H 1G5. followed by a graveside service at Resurrection Cemetery 355 Taunton Rd E, Whitby, ON.

DAWES, Lana Dawes - 1945 - 2024
In her 79th year, Lana passed away at home in Pickering, ON. Beloved widow of John MacGillivray, older sister to Gary (Leeann), Raymond (Connie), Audrie (Bob), and Susie (Troy). A loving aunt to many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Retired from The Canadian Press, she always spoke fondly of her time there, the friends she made, and the sports celebrities she met.
Her love of travel took her to many places that were filled with fond memories, especially her trip to Graceland because she loved Elvis.
Her and John loved to golf and had many adventures on their boat, Miss LED. She will be fondly remembered and missed by her family in Nova Scotia and her dear friends in Elliot Lake, where she lived for 13 years.

Janina spent her life filled with love, laughter, and an unyielding passion for her family and gardening. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild were the light of her life. Among her many gardening accomplishments, her beautiful rose bushes, represented her loving and tender care for her gardens.
Janina was also a dedicated longtime parishioner of St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church.

D'MELLO, Quentin Roque D’Mello - aged 88, passed away on August 14th, 2024.
He was born on July 10th , 1936, to (Late) Charles & (Late) Angela D’Mello. Brother of (Late) Sybil Tellis (Late Diego Tellis), (Late) Ida Miranda (Late Anthony Miranda) & (Late) Anthony D’Mello (Anna Rita),
He was a beloved husband, father, grand father, great grand father and friend, who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Having lost his parents at the age of 10, he grew up and lived in Karachi, Pakistan.
After he married the love of his life, Rita, and had three children, he moved to Bahrain. He was a man who truly understood the value of hard work, having spent much of his life in the hospitality industry, where he devoted himself to making others feel welcome, cared for, and at home.
Beyond his work and his commitment to his family, Quentin was a man of profound faith. His faith was the cornerstone of his life, shaping his values, his actions, and his understanding of the world. He believed in the power of prayer, the importance of compassion, and the promise of eternal life. Closer to his retirement, he spent time in India, Pakistan and finally moved to Canada with his wife in 2003.
Quentin is grieved by his loving wife, Rita, his children, Angela (Damson Jacques), Carol (Alfred Pereira), Charles (Rozann Rodricks), grandchildren, Lynda Jacques (Alison Rebello), Dylano Jaques (Ula Luis), (Late) Keegan Pereira, Valensha Pereira (Jorson Fernandes), Keedon Pereira, Christine D’Mello, Daniel D’Mello & Adam D’Mello, great grandchildren, Tanith, Naarah & Maeve Rebello. His memory will be cherished by all who knew him.

DOUCETTE, Lou Doucette - It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Louis (Lou) Henry Victor Doucette at the age of 71.
Lou departed peacefully at Lakeridge Health Oshawa surrounded by his loving family.
Lou put up a brave fight for a long time and will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by Sharon Doucette (his real-life guardian angel who never left his side), his son Steven Doucette (Amanda), stepdaughter Sylvia Giorgio-Nolan (Ryan) and his daughter Cynthia Doucette.
He was a grandfather of 8, and an uncle to many nieces and nephews. Lou is predeceased by his parents Jean and Joseph Doucette, and his sister Rose Marie Geisel. He was a brother to Joanne Barnes, Jean Black (Robert) and Michael Doucette. He treasured his time with family and friends.
Nascar has lost their biggest fan, although now, Lou might just have the best seat in the house!
The family would like to thank the incredible Doctors, Nurses and all support staff in the Critical Care Unit at Lakeridge Health Oshawa.
A celebration of Lou's life will be held on Sunday, August 25th, from 1:00pm-5:00pm at Northcutt Elliott Funeral Home, in Bowmanville (Parking off Wellington St).
