It is with sadness that we announce the passing of William (Bill) Emmett on July 6, 2021 at the age of 98.
Bill was born in Glasgow, Scotland on June 16, 1923, to father, Thomas Henry Emmett and mother, Jeanie Clark.
He served in the Royal Navy from 1942-1946 on the HMS Penn, a P-Class Destroyer active during WWII.
Bill is preceded in death by his siblings, Margaret (Davie), Nell (Casey), Henry and Thomas; his dear wife, Mary (Murphy) and his beloved children, Margaret (Doherty) and Paul.
He is survived by his children John and Thomas; grandchildren Keara, Scott, Paul (Doherty) and Cailin (Doherty); and great-grandchildren Allora (Reid), Bronwynn (Reid), Kaysen and Keaton.
Bill will be missed and remembered in fond memories by all.
The family would like to thank the staff and residents at Chartwell Colonial Retirement Residence in Whitby for providing a comfortable home for Bill over the last few years.
A visitation for Bill is planned for Tuesday, July 13, from 11am – 12pm., at Mount Lawn Funeral Home, Whitby, ON. The funeral service will follow immediately in Thornhill, ON.

Suddenly passing on Sunday June 27, 2021 at Peterborough Regional Health Centre at the age of 72.
Devoted husband to Loretta (nee Nozdryn). Life partner and wife of 51 years.
Predeceased by his parents Muriel and Noel Middleton, his sister Diane and brother-in-law’s Percy and Raymond.
In-laws Anastasia and William Nozdryn and brother-in-law Victor.
Outstanding dad to Dave (Denyse), Scott (Shannon) and Ryan (Rachel).
Awesome brother to Carol (Ron), Pat (Daryl) Donna (the late Raymond) and Bonnie (Al).
Brother in –law to Bill (Sherry) and Andy (Sandra).
Proud grandpa to Tyler, Trever, Alyssa, Brent (Bre), Brandon (Alissa) and Brooke.
Great grandpa to McKenna, Jackson, Kylah, and Mason. World’s best uncle to many nieces and nephews.
They are all his favourite.
Long time car hauler with Charlton M.C.L and Allied Systems until he retired in January 2014.
He had incredible love for hunting and fishing with his friends at Mohawk Bay Park where he camped for 39 years and also with his long-time friend Dwight Cameron who would keep him talking for hours.
If there was ever a time you needed him, he was always there. He was always so strong and never showing fear. We as a family hope to carry on that trait and make him proud as he looks down on us from heaven.
A beautiful person to all who knew him as Dave, Mid, Lucky Loser, and Snowflake.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday August 14, 2021 from 1 – 5pm. At 3434 Concession 7 Orono, Ontario L0B 1M0 Service at 2:30 p.m.

Walter immigrated from Switzerland when he was 20 years old. He was licensed as a Swiss Cabinet Maker and dedicated 30 years to the City of Oshawa.
Walter played soccer in the Durham area for the European league. He dedicated many years of his life to coaching, soccer, ringette and broomball. He was a mentor to many in the sporting world on the fields and at the rinks.
A private immediate family interment has taken place at Riverside Cemetery, Lindsay.

Wally passed away peacefully at Lakeridge Health, Oshawa on Thursday, June 24, 2021.
Son of the late Harold and Doreen Donaldson.
Father of Kelsey and Tianna Gautreau of Moncton, New Brunswick.
Death brother of Wendy Seminsky (Steve), Rob Donaldson (Marie) and Karen Sararas (late husband Gary).
Crazy beloved uncle of Darryl (Candice), Jaime (Rod), Kristy (Mike), Steven (Karen), Shawn and Stacy (Stephen).
Missed by several great nieces and great nephews.
Longtime friend and companion of Danielle Laperriere.
Wally most recently worked at Rockburne Bros. for several years where he took much pride in accommodating and caring for every one of his clients.
However, his pride and joy throughout his life was his significant involvement with the Sporting Community of Durham Region.
The many aspects of his career, first as a Sports writer, then Sports Editor of the Oshawa Times and colour commentating for the Oshawa Generals, allowed Wally to meet and acquire many longtime friends and acquaintances at every level of sport throughout the years.
RIP Wally, you did a good job.

Died peacefully in his sleep at the age of 90 after a long illness.
Loving husband of Winnifred Jean Bryans (Lewis) of 68 years.
He dedicated his life and fought hard for the love of his life - Jean.
Pre-deceased by son Roly (Rowena).
Sincerely missed by his 5 children, Jerry (Debbie), Jean Wilkinson (Wayne), Donald (Colleen), Bonnie Martin, and Jim (Suzanne).
Loving grandfather to Teri Ann Bryans, Christopher Bryans, Meghann Bryans, Sara Bryans, Ian Bryans, Carrie Kyc, Jennifer Wilkinson, Eric Bryans, Emily Bryans, Teresa Knox, Melissa Martin, Ryan Martin, Liam Bryans and 3 great grand children.
Bill was born and raised in Smiths Falls, Ontario. He was a “jack of all trades” trying his hand at farming, welding, carpentry, logging, mechanics and truck driving.
Moved to Oshawa in 1970 where he worked for Motor Carriers Ltd from where he retired.
During his retirement years he operated Binders Lock and Key in the Oshawa area.
Bill was an avid hunter and fisherman and sincerely enjoyed the camaraderie of his many friends.
He had a great love for his two ponies Buck and Mac and his companion Muffin.
His family, however, were his ultimate pride and joy. He will be sincerely missed by all.
Private service will be held at BARNES MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME in Brooklin, Ontario on Friday June 18th at 11 am.
Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation in his honour would be greatly appreciated.
