Peacefully fell asleep in death on December 25th, 2018.Born January 28th, 1947 in Békés, Hungary, predeceased by her father Kàroly (December 24th, 1969) and mother Terézia (October 4th, 2010).Beloved mother of her son Victor and his wife Shellamar, grandsons Saymone and Kàroly, and her son Robert and his wife Alison, grandson Joshua and granddaughter Mackenzie.Dear sister of Eva Vaspori, 2 nephews George and David, 3 nieces Ava, Brigitte, and Ashley, along with many great nephews and nieces and a number of relatives in Hungary.Terézia immigrated with her family from Hungary in 1957. She resided in Longueuil, Quebec until 1960 then moved to Toronto. In 1974, she moved to Oshawa to raise her boys.Finally in 2004, Terézia moved along with her mother to the quiet, peaceful hamlet of Elliot Lake, Ontario where she looked after her mother.The most noteworthy part of Terézia’s life was her faith in Jehovah God and the resurrection hope on a global paradise earth as promised in the Bible: Psalms 37:28, Revelation 21:4, Isaiah 45:18.Visitation at ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME, 124 King St E., Oshawa, Ontario, on Wednesday January 2nd, 2019 from 7 - 9pm and on Thursday January 3rd at 10 - 11am with interment to follow at Union Cemetery, 760 King St W. January 27th, 1926 - December 3rd, 2018Former Mayor of Whitby, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on December 3, 2018 at the Village of Taunton Mills.Tom was a true leader his entire life, serving his community and his country.He was a World War 2 Veteran and former Light Heavyweight Boxing Champion of Northwest England.He served for more than 40 years in municipal politics finally ascending to the Mayor’s chair in 1991.Tom was a labour leader and social activist, attending the founding meeting of the Ontario New Democratic Party and running as candidate for the C.C.F. and N.D.P. on four occasions.Many will also remember his wonderful baritone singing voice, through his frequent performances throughout the years.Beloved husband of the late June, loving father to Lynn, Paul, Jill (Karl) and Rachel (David). Beloved grandfather of Brendan, Trevor (Dring), Alexandria, Elizabeth, Paul, John, Bronwen, Bryn, Gwynfor and Emrys. Adored great grandfather of Logan, Kieran, Madelaine and Wesley. Will also be missed by nieces, nephews and friends. At Thomas’s request, cremation has taken place.A memorial visitation for both he and June will take place at W.C.
