(October 28, 1943 – August 19, 2020)William (Bill) Sutherland passed away peacefully at Oshawa General Hospital on August 19, 2020. Devoted and loving husband to Valerie for 55 years, a wonderful Dad to Bill (Andrea) and David (Lucie), and a fantastic papa to Kay, Jill, William and Jonathan.Bill was proud of Kay for graduating from Western University this year, he was happy that Jill accepted a soccer scholarship at Saint Leo University in Florida, and he was pleased that William and Jonathan were having so much success with their hockey. Bill leaves behind his sister Jane (David), his sister in law Maria (Malcolm) and brother in law William. Bill will be missed by all his nieces and nephews, his relatives and friends in England and here in Canada.Bill was born in Greenock, Scotland and spent the majority of his youth in Findhorn, a small fishing village in Moray on the eastern shore of Findhorn bay. Bill followed in the footsteps of his dad and uncles and trained to be a baker.After Moving to Liverpool to work the ships of the merchant navy he met and married Valerie in 1965, eventually moving to Canada in 1969, where the family settled. Bill enjoyed working at Home Depot and all the time spent with his co-workers. This was his final job before retirement.Bill was a passionate Liverpool F.C. fan, following from afar, but not missing any of the games on the telly. He was thrilled to watch his beloved LFC win the Champions League and the English Premier league in the past 12 months. Bud Trude, born on March 2, 1931 to the late Frank and Mary Trude (nee Tighe); passed peacefully at Uxbridge Cottage Hospital on July 9, 2020 at the age of 89.He is dearly missed by his wife of 63 years – Eileen Trude.He is the cherished father of Lynda Trude, Deena Hunt (nee Trude), Tony Trude, and Chad Trude, and father in-law to Mark Cucco, Susan Thompson, and Sandra Doucet.He is the beloved grandfather to Darren Trude, Lance Trude, Mason Trude, Kyle Cucco, Madeline Jensen (nee Hunt), Corey Cucco, Melissa Hunt, Caitlin Cucco, Montana Jeffery (nee Trude), Tamara Trude, Evan Trude and Davis Trude.He is a great grandfather to Logan Trude, Colby Daly-Trude, Brooklyn Daly-Trude, Kendall Trude, Leo Jensen, Maverick Jeffery, and Riley Jensen.Uncle Bud will be missed by his many nieces and nephews as well.He was predeceased by dearest daughter Cathy Cucco (nee Trude), and his siblings Donald Trude, Althea Olver, Margaret Andrews, Nelson Trude, and Albert Trude.Born and raised on a farm in Lakefield, he had a love for music, singing and playing guitar, fiddle, and harmonica. Passed away peacefully at his home after a long, happy and blessed life.Willi was born in Czechoslovakia along with his 4 siblings. His father was the Mayor of their Town and at the end of the war in 1945, they were forced to flee Czechoslovakia to Germany as displaced persons. In 1956, he came to Canada and worked on farms and the Canadian National Railway.He came to know Jesus as his Saviour and Lord in 1957, moved to Toronto in 1958, met Jill, the love of his life, in 1964 and they were married eight months later. He worked in a leadership role at Consumers Gas for his entire career of 35 years.Willi is survived by his wife, Jill and his sons, Derek and Brian, along with his five grandchildren Kostya, Sergei, Natasha, Brianna & Caleb and great grandchild Nikolai. Willi will be remembered for his gentle demeanour, love for soccer, knowledge of current events and adoration for nature. His dedication to the work of the Lord in areas of finance, administration and mentoring youth will be greatly missed.
