WILDS, Daniel James Ross Wilds - Superman
I'm very saddened to inform all that knew Danny and anyone who's life he touched, that he's moved on to his next great adventure.
Danny passed away peacefully at home yesterday, on Wednesday, August 7th, 2024, which was his greatest wish, with myself and his fur son Bobo by his side.
Danny was my life partner for 18 years and because I'm so very proud of him that I want to take this opportunity to share a little part of his nobility and strength.
Danny had many serious ailments that he lived with, but that never stopped him from trying to live his life to it's fullest.
These ailments cost Danny his mobility but that never stopped his stories, his humor, wit, charm and smile. Danny was hospitalized over 3 months ago, survived being on ventilator 3 times, amazed the staff and beat the odds of those who doubted he would survive past being on life support the 1st time.
You would often see this great warrior on ventilator, no pain meds, no sedation sat up in bed on his tablet playing games or watching a movie.
He was even the backbone to myself when he was told he had inoperable advanced bladder cancer. He did not bat an eye, other then to tell me he did not want me to cry.
The only thoughts he had was to be with his loved ones, eat good food and watch great entertainment and survive long enough to come and pass away in his safe place, home. My heartfelt wish for him came true, he made it home, got to eat some of his favorite foods, watch some of his favorite shows, tell people he loved them and be loved in his own home, on his own terms.
Danny passed as he lived, a smile on his face and love in his heart. I often called him Clark Kent, but to me, he was my superman. I'll never regret the day he stepped thru my door and into my life.
I'll love you forever, I'll remember you forever and you will always be a part of me.
The world lost a light, but the sky gained a Star. Shine on my Mr. Dan. xo .

A Fallen Limb
A limb has fallen from the family tree.
I keep hearing a voice that says,
“Grieve not for me.
Remember the best times, the laughter, the song.
The good life I lived while I was strong.
Continue my heritage, I’m counting on you.
Keep smiling and surely the sun will shine through.
My mind is at ease, my soul is at rest.
Remembering all, how I truly was blessed.

Go on with your life, don’t worry about falls.
I miss you all dearly, so keep up your chin.
Until the day comes we’re together again.”

MULRINE, Catherine Mulrine - After an unexpectedly quick end to a long illness, we said goodbye to our mum, granny and your friend, Cathy Mulrine on August 6. A proud Scot, she was born in Glasgow in 1953 to a large family that she loved with all of her heart.
She came to Canada in 1966 and it became her home. She met our dad when they were both teenagers, but it wasn’t quite love at first sight, at least not for mum. That would come later, as would 3 daughters and 7 grandchildren. In addition to building a strong and loving family, she also built an incredible career. She was a doer, an organizer, and she recognized the best in people and made them better.
She was devoted to her career, and in doing so, showed her daughters that they could achieve anything. As a family, we share our grief with the many people she impacted over her life.
We have received messages from around the world remembering what a phenomenal woman she was. She leaves behind her daughters, Michelle (Sean), Colleen (Gerry), and Laura (Andrew), her grandchildren, Frances, Maria, Rory, Niamh, Eilidh, Conall, and Paul, as well as her wee brother, John, her niece, Gina, her sister-in-law Liz, and many friends.
She also leaves behind a remarkable legacy and an example of how to live a good life.
We send thanks to her many doctors, especially her GP, Dr. Bichay, and Dr. Coppens and the ICU nurses at Lakeridge Health who made her last days peaceful. We know she has been reunited with her Mammy and Daddy and siblings. And it gives us comfort knowing she’ll be with the love of her life, Tommy, who she missed so much these past 14 years. A Memorial Mass at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, 127 Liberty St S, Bowmanville, will take place on Tuesday August 13, 2024, at 11AM. In lieu of flowers, we ask for donations to St. Paul on the Hill food bank, a charity that Mum was fond of, and carries on her mission of feeding people.
