OCTOBER 13, 1964 – JANUARY 17, 2024
With tremendous sadness, we announce the passing of Eugene Roger Nault, who left us on January 17, 2024.
Roger is the loving husband of Sinalen (Nalen) Ly, adoring father of Chulsa and Laura Tevy; brother of Arthur Nault; uncle to Desiree and Lucas; and son of Eugene Charles Nault (dec. 1979) and Laura Clare (dec. 1990).
Born in Sudbury, Ont., Roger studied Business at Wilfrid Laurier University, where he made many lifelong friends, and worked as a marketing manager at RBH Inc.
Roger began a new chapter when he moved to Cambodia, met his beloved Sinalen, and began an academic career, earning a Master’s Degree and then teaching at the Royal University of Phnom Penh.
Specializing in critical thinking for global issues, local development, and ethical philosophies, Roger regularly received awards for outstanding teaching performance while at the University.
Returning with his family to Canada, Roger was most recently a Professor of Global Citizenship at Centennial College in Scarborough. Roger’s time with us was too short, but his love of life, dance parties, thirst for knowledge, and care for those around him ran deep.
He leaves a large and loyal circle of dear friends. Roger brought passion, a lightning-quick wit and a much-loved distinctive laugh wherever his interests lay, from canoeing and camping in Algonquin Park to music (the Hip!) and the joy of a spirited discussion.
Most of all, Roger will be remembered for the infinite love he had for his family. He will be deeply, deeply missed. A celebration of Roger’s life will be held at a later time.
Those wishing to donate in Roger’s memory are asked to consider the Princess Margaret Foundation.
