76 Years Old We are greatly saddened to announce the passing of Wayne Richard Harris, at the age of 76, from complications of cancer, on September 2, 2023, at Markham Stouffville Hospital.

Born in East York (Toronto) on June 12, 1947, the sixth child of the late Jeanette Norval Harris (nee Kennedy) and Frederick Norman Harris.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 49 years, Joanne (nee Runia). His sisters June Duncombe (Bob), Olive O’Connor (Jim), and Isobel Heggie (Jock), and brothers Frederick and Thomas predeceased him.

He will be missed dearly by nieces Janet Ruebottom (Alan), and Kathy Dearing, and nephews Robert Duncombe (Yvonne), James O’Connor (Diane), and Thomas O’Connor (Sheree). Sister-in-law Wilma Runia, brother-in-law John Runia, and nephews and nieces Michael and Kevin Runia, and Jennifer Handley and Michelle Dickie, all loved him & will miss him.

Wayne chose a life of service as a Firefighter with the Scarborough Fire Department, raising through the ranks to District Chief.

There he made lifelong friends, and met his best friend Ron Appleton, with whom he shared countless memorable experiences.

He had the gift of finding humour in even the most unlikely situations, bringing laughter to all who surrounded him. Wayne lived life full, loved his family, friends, neighbours, dogs, cars, travelling, his old cottage, and so much more.

You will be missed!

It is with great sadness that the family of Wendy Ellen Ewstratin (nee Pappas) announce her sudden passing on Saturday, September 2nd, 2023, in her 63rd year.

Wendy was a strong, tenacious, giving and outgoing woman who loved to laugh and meet new people.

She loved with an open heart and always found a reason to stay positive.

Her greatest joy was being Gma to her grandson Macklin.

Devoted mom to Tori Hobbs (Max) and Tyson Ewstratin.

Loving daughter of Lois Pappas and the late George Pappas. Dear sister to Peter Pappas and Kim Marycz (Joe).

Wendy will be greatly missed and remembered fondly by her former husband, Vic Ewstratin along with many friends and family.

At Wendy’s request, a cremation has taken place. We welcome all friends and family to join us for a celebration of Wendy’s life at Smash Kitchen & Bar, 75 Consumers Drive, Whitby, on Sunday, September 17th, 2023 from 12pm - 2pm.

He leaves behind his beloved wife Lyn Jay.

Wes will be sadly missed by his daughter Kelly and Lyn’s children Katy (Rauvin), Hugh (Tara), and Andrew (Camille), along with his grandchildren Cordelia and Aaron.

Wes was an avid outdoorsman and had a passion for golfing and fishing, often making trips to Texas to enjoy both activities.

(Retired Registered Nurse of 31 years at Ajax-Pickering Hospital) Wilma (nee Phillips) passed away peacefully at home on Thursday August 17, 2023 at the age of 85, with her family by her side.

Beloved wife of Lybron for 61 years. Loving mother of Beverley (Peter), and Todd (Suzanne).

Lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Skylar, Jayden, Madison, Ashlyn and Carson.

Dear sister of St. Elmo (predeceased), Marvin (predeceased), Theo (predeceased), Arlette, Louiston, Evelyn Jr. (predeceased), Sheena, Irwin, Pam and Glendall. She will be loved and missed by all — her life and memories forever celebrated by her extended family and friends.

Wilma trained as a midwife and nurse in England. After immigrating to Canada, she worked as a registered nurse, and assistant head nurse of labour and delivery at what was then known as Ajax-Pickering Hospital. One of her biggest career accomplishments was spearheading the Maternal Newborn department.

Wilma was greatly admired and respected by her colleagues and those who knew her well. She will be missed by all. However, her life and memories will forever be celebrated by those who loved her.

A heartfelt thank you to Kianda Mauch NP, Erica Payne RN, Renooka Misir RN, Ursula, Bebe, Christina, Chenelle, and Faith for their care, compassion and support.

In honouring Wilma’s wishes, there will be no formal service. A celebration of life will take place at a later date.

Passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Tuesday August 15th, 2023 at Lakeridge Health Oshawa.

Wilhelm Mueller in his 90th year leaves behind his beloved Wife Maria.

Devoted Father of Rene (Jody Greenlaw), Ralph (Diana Barry) and Carolyn Mueller.

Proud Opa of Connor, Sophie, Lydia & Ella.

Wilhelm was an accomplished millwright who dedicated more than 50 years to his career.

While he was passionate about his work, never sitting still, building, fixing, and helping others; his absolute love and attention was always on his family.

His favorite times were at the cottage where he continued his passion, built and created structures, games and toys for the family to enjoy. Wilhelm was a proud member of Club Loreley, his community, and his church.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday August 21 st at St. Gertrude’s Catholic Church. Cremation will take place.

Interment of ashes will take place at a later date in Resurrection Cemetery.

Celebration of life will held at 12:30 after the mass at Club Loreley in Oshawa.

Donations in memory of Wilhelm to the Alzheimer’s Society or the Ontario Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.

With heavy hearts we announce the loss of loving husband, father, grandfather and friend Wayne Campkin, on August 8, 2023.

With Gina, his devoted wife of 50 years by his side, Wayne passed peacefully after a short battle with pancreatic cancer.

Predeceased by his father Colin and mother Gladys he is survived by his sister Elaine Adams (Randy).

He will forever be lovingly remembered by Gina and their children; Ryan Campkin (Linda) and Tanya Macleod (Aaron).

A cherished Grandad, Wayne will also be deeply missed by Brady, Shevonne, Ashlyn, Kassia and Emmerson. Wayne will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and neighbors.

Wayne liked baking for his family, playing darts and travelling. Anyone who visited his yard could see that he had a green thumb and loved planting and tending to his bloom filled gardens. Neighbors will recall that Wayne could also often be found in his driveway washing his car.

A celebration of Wayne’s life will be held at Mount Lawn Funeral Home & Cemetery, 21 Garrard Road, Whitby on August 26 from 1:00p.m. to 4:00 p.m. The family is thankful to the staff at Lakeridge Health Oshawa who cared for Wayne during his last days.

With broken hearts and much sorrow, we share the unexpected news of the passing of Gary Delong of Brooklin on Friday August 4th, 2023 at the age of 65.

Loving Husband to Cathy (Hamer) for over 44 years.

Proud and devoted father to Chris (Janice), and Andy (Juliette).

He will be missed forever, but always in our hearts.

Born to William and Joan (Porte) Delong in Brooklin then moving to Acton.

Although Gary was predeceased in death by his grandparents, Rita and Roy Delong (Brooklin), father William (Brooklin), mother Joan Porte Charles (Acton), father-in-law Charles Hamer (Brooklin), sister Patricia (Acton) and brother David (Brooklin), saddened hearts left behind are sisters Audra (Daryl) and Nicole (Rick), Mother-in-law Marie Hamer, in-laws Doug Andrews and Karen Delong, Jane (Bob) Young, Marilyn Hamer (Owen), Brian, Ed (Fran) Hamer.

Gary will be lovingly remembered by his numerous nieces and nephews.

Gary retired from General Motors with over 40 years.

He enjoyed playing many sports such as lacrosse, baseball, golf and loved fishing. He also had a strong passion for music as well as a great love of animals. Spending time in his backyard was his favourite pastime.
