SEPTEMBER 24, 1927 – JANUARY 15, 2024
Adela Marczuk, 96, of Oshawa, passed away peacefully on Jan 15th after a long, beautiful life.
Adela was born on September 24th 1927 to Julia and Jan Mazur in Belzec, Poland.
Challenging times to grow up in. She had lost most of her friends and family to the war(s).
Later, Adela married Ludwik Marczuk.
Adela and Ludwik went on to have 3 children, Janine Giffin, Barbara Marczuk and Zygmunt Marczuk. Adela lived quite the life. 96+ years of strength, courage, kindness, love and deep unwavering faith.
She very much enjoyed nature of all kinds. Her love of dogs and animals so strong that the whole family inherited that trait.
Appreciating the birds and trees, thankful for it all, every day. She enjoyed cooking for her family, gardening, going to Church and travelling. There are many amazing stories of her life, wartime, struggles, loss, survival and love. She had lost most of her family in wars, with just a few women at home to carry on.
After losing her husband Ludwik to Cancer and her daughter Barbara to various disabilities/illnesses, with her son and daughter with their families in Canada, she eventually moved to Canada. She spent many years living with her son and daughter in law, helping raise their 3 beautiful, smart and successful daughters.
She went on many trips back to Poland to spend summers at her home, which she loved, had many vacations with her daughter and son in law to tropical places, she loved the water, sun and sand. She had many trips to her son’s cottage where she enjoyed the forest and fresh air. She moved in with her daughter for her golden years.
After caring for others her whole life, it was her time to be cared for. Many talks, walks and time together, much to be thankful for. Adela was predeceased by her daughter Barbara and husband Ludwik. She is survived by her Daughter Janine Giffin (SIL Brent), her Son Zygmunt Marczuk (DIL Ivona), her Grandchildren Olympia Richards, Kimberly Giffin, Cameron Giffin, Monika Marczuk, Aleksandra Marczuk, Camila Marczuk, her great grandchildren Hanna Giffin, Celina Chaudhry, and Nash Gaatch.
All whom she loved deeply. Adela will be held dear in the hearts of everyone who knew her, and she will never be forgotten for her wisdom, humbleness and love. Visitation will be held at Oshawa Funeral Home on Thursday January 18th, 7-9pm. Procession for the burial will follow to Resurrection Catholic Cemetery.

Cherished grandmother to 21 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren. Agnes will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
A special Thank You to the staff at Ballycliffe Long Term Care, you all have been her guardian angels.
God saw you getting tired,
When a cure was not to be,
So He closed His arms around you And whispered “Come to Me”.
You did not deserve what you went through
And so he gave you a rest,
God’s garden must be beautiful For he only takes the best.
In time we saw you sinking We watched you fade away,
Our hearts were almost broken,
You fought so hard to stay.
But when we saw you sleeping,
So peacefully from pain,
We could not wish you back,
To suffer that again.
If you had spoken before you died,
These are the words you’d have replied
“Weep not for me,
but courage take and love one another for my sake”.

OCTOBER 3, 1929 – JANUARY 9, 2024
Tony passed away suddenly on Tuesday January 9, 2024 at Lakeridge Health Oshawa at the age of 94 years.
Tony will be sadly missed by his son Steven (Theresa), his 3 grandchildren Stefan (Tomoko), Carolyn (Matt) and Jonathan (Karen) as well as his 2 great grandchildren Ethan and Mei Ptak, nephew Jason (Mariana) and other family members in France.
Tony was predeceased by Mary, his loving wife of 63 years.
Of Polish descent, Tony was born on October 3, 1929 in Barlin located in the Pas-de-Calais area of northern France.
Tony experienced the hardships of German occupation of France and WW2 first hand and, as a youth, he joined the cadets and eventually the Polish II Corps led by General Anders in Italy where he served in a support role. In 1946, he immigrated to Canada and worked as a labourer on a number of farms and mines in Ontario and as far as Yellowknife, NWT.
In Kirkland Lake he met Mary, his future wife, while working at the Lakeshore Gold Mine. The couple relocated to Oshawa and their son Steven was born in 1951. Tony supplemented the family income by working at local tobacco farms during General Motors plant changeovers that often lasted several months.
Unfortunately, he suffered chronic back pain and retired from GM after 35 years with a disability pension in 1985. Above all, Tony will be remembered for his sweet nature, his gentle way and his kindness to others.
Tony will live on in our hearts and we will celebrate him often in remembering his generosity and often-told stories of his youth. We have been truly blessed to have “Papa” with us well into his nineties and the many memories will comfort us as we move through this difficult time.
A private family service will be held at OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME followed by interment at Union Cemetery.

March 29, 1943 - January 5, 2024
Born on March 29, 1943, in St Vincent and the Grenadines, embarked on a remarkable journey that spanned continents and generations.
On June 5, 1965, he sealed a lifelong commitment to his one true love, Patsy Davis.
Relocating to Birmingham, England in 1964, Alfred, with Patsy by his side in 1965, embraced diverse roles, from an electrical apprentice to a skilled forklift driver.
In March 1968, their family expanded with the arrival of their son, Steve. Returning to St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Alfred assumed the role of a supervisor at CK Greaves to provide steadfast support for his growing family. In May 1973, their joy multiplied with the birth of their daughter, Samantha, completing the cherished Gibson family.
The next chapter unfolded in Canada, where, in October 1976, Alfred and Patsy, inspired by the footsteps of friends and family, made their new home. At A.G. Simpson's Scarborough plant, Alfred's dedication shone as a Shipper/Forklift Operator for 30 years, contributing to the transportation of car parts manufactured in the factory. His commitment culminated in a well-deserved retirement from A.G. Simpson in February 2006.
Alfred, known for his amiable nature, effortlessly forged enduring friendships wherever life took him. His warmth, tenderness, love, and selflessness defined him. An easygoing spirit, he navigated life without complaint, leaving a lasting impact on those fortunate enough to know him.
On January 5, 2024, at the age of 80, Alfred Gibson bid farewell, leaving behind a legacy of love and a lifetime of cherished memories.
He is survived by his devoted wife Patsy of 58 years, son Steve (Monica), daughter Samantha (Bill), four adoring grandchildren: Madyson, Dominic, Ariana, and Alize, and many friends and other family.
