JULY 17, 1960 – MARCH 13, 2024
Surrounded by people she loved, though unexpected, Heaven gained a beautiful angel in the early hours of March 13, 2024.
Dawn was greeted at Heavens gate by her parents; John and Helen Foran, her in-laws; Frank and Lillian Walkey, as well as her sister; Helen (Foran) Lamb, where we know she is in safe and loving company in the comfort of their arms in a wonderful reunion full of love and laughter.
Dawn was an amazing, loving mother and best friend to her children, a devoted wife of 35 years to Frank, an Aunt and “Great” Aunt to many nieces and nephews across Ontario and Newfoundland - including her special bond with niece, Susan Foran, and God Mother to Jeremy Lamb. Dawn will be remembered and cherished eternally by her siblings; Maurice Galgay, Nick (& Shiela) Galgay, Ann (& Bob) Bell, Helen (deceased) & Grant Lamb, Joan (& Reginald, deceased) Mercer, Johnny (& Maureen) Foran, Dennis Foran, her twin sister, Darlene (& Paul) Farris, Mary Carole Foran (& Bob Myers), Karen (& Steve) Rankin, and Judi (& Rob) Elnor.
She will be remembered fondly by her Port Perry friends, as well as her Scotiabank friends - where she worked for over 25 years as a Financial Advisor. Born in St. John’s, NL.
She’s always been proud to be from “The Rock” - she’d always be happy to tell stories of NL, treat you to a homemade fish cake (without onions of course), or blast you some Great Big Sea (bonus points if you could keep up with Mary Mac).
When she moved to Toronto as a young woman, she met the love of her life, Frank, at a bowling alley in 1986. the rest, as they say, is history.
She will be remembered by her sweet, innocent smile, her one-liners that always cracked a laugh and how easily she could ruin a song by a repeat button - but she swore she hasn’t done that since Red Solo Cup. All of those songs, which are different for everyone, will certainly be a fond and happy reminder when they come on about the best days we were lucky to share with Dawn.
To know Dawn was to love Dawn; her heart was made of gold and her shining personality lit up any room she walked in. She was someone that comforted you and provided whatever she could to cheer someone up, even by a simple hug or hearing her sweet giggle. She would do anything for the people she loved, and was exceptionally proud of her kids; making sure everyone knew how much she loved them.
“When we lose someone we love, we must learn not to live without them, but to live with the love they left behind”.
We love you young lady, we miss you so incredibly much and will forever until we meet again. Ok see you later bye.
Funeral Service will take place on Friday, March 22, 2024 at OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME 847 King Street West (905-721-1234). There will be a visitation from 12:30pm-1:30pm with the service beginning at 1:30pm. Private reception to follow.
