Michael John Nichols
July 23, 1939 - May 17, 2024
Michael died peacefully at home on May 17, 2024, surrounded by his family.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 60 years, Éva, and their two children, Sarah (Jac) and Emma (Andrew).
He was a proud grandfather to Noah, Corin, Ethan, Scout, Claire, and Cully.
Michael will also be deeply missed by his sister Marian (Alan) and the extended Perkins and Suslak families in the United Kingdom.
Born in London just before the start of the Second World War, Michael emigrated to Canada in 1968 with Éva and Sarah (and Emma already on the way) to join Ontario Hydro’s new nuclear program at Chalk River, Ontario.
The family moved to Toronto in 1969, where Michael and Éva made lasting friendships that endure to today.
Retired from Ontario Hydro after a 25 year career in nuclear power, Michael spent the next 30 years enjoying his second career as investment portfolio manager for his family and using his engineering skills to prove that anything can be repaired with a bit of duct tape, a spirit level, and a plan.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, May 26, 2024, at The SIMPLE ALTERNATIVE FUNERAL CENTRE - PICKERING , 1057 Brock Road, Pickering, L1W 3T7.
Visitation from 4 pm to 5:30 pm with brief Words of Remembrance to follow at 5:30 pm.

Mary Josephine “Teresa Jordan
Teresa passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 18, 2024 at The Village of Taunton Mills, Whitby, one week after celebrating her 93rd birthday.
Teresa was born May 11, 1931 in Kingston, Ontario, to Joseph and Josephine (née McBrady) Jordan.
She is predeceased by her parents, her sister Frances (née Jordan) McMinn and her baby brother James Jordan.
Teresa spent most of her life in Durham Region where she attended Whitby High School and worked as a loans officer at CIBC for over 40 years.
She enjoyed her home and took pride in her garden. She was a longtime member and volunteer of St. Gregory’s Church, Oshawa, was a group leader for St. Vincent’s Kitchen and for many years, greatly enjoyed her time spent as a social member of the Oshawa Golf and Country Club.
Her friendly personality and sense of humour made her endearing to so many people, and she was never happier than when spending time with good friends and family whilst enjoying a cold beer.
Teresa is survived by her nephew Jim McMinn and his wife Sharon and their three children, Andrew, Melissa and Jennifer, and her cousin Maggie Dawson and her husband Mike. Teresa will be missed by her great nieces and nephews, family, friends and neighbours.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to all the staff at Taunton Mills and the caregivers from Cardinal Nannies for their support and care of Teresa. Relatives and friends are invited to St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church (214 Simcoe St. N, Oshawa) on Wednesday May 29, 2024 from 9:30 am until time of Memorial Mass at 10:30 am.

Born on June 29, 1982, Marie Stephanie McGregor’s arrival was a wave of happiness and strength for her family, filling hearts with gratitude.
Marie brought joy and strength into this world.
Marie will be remembered as an adored and devoted mother, daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, and friend who left an unforgettable mark on those around her.
Marie lived life to the fullest despite any challenges or adversities she faced.
Her unwavering spirit and resilience inspired all who knew her. Throughout her life, Marie touched the hearts of countless people and was fiercely loyal to those she cared about. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all those who had the privilege of knowing her.
As a mother, Marie was selfless and dedicated, always putting the needs of her precious son first. Zayden was her world, her sense of pride, and her will to thrive and succeed in life each and every day. Marie joined God’s angels suddenly on May 17, 2024.
Marie will always be remembered for her Infectious smile, protective nature, resilience, and avid love of music.
Her unwavering love and spirit will never be forgotten. Her life, love, and legacy will forever bring a smile to her loved ones. The memory of our beloved Marie will be long-lasting.

It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Martin on Monday May 13th, 2024 at the age of 79 years.
Lovingly remembered by his family – Linda Phillips (adored partner); Barbara Robitaille (former spouse) and their devoted children [late] Victor (Patty), Marty (Nora), Annette (Barry), Karen; Joanne Weatherall (former spouse) and devoted children Bill and Angela.

Martin was a distinguished musician, avid golfer, and animal lover.

It is with great sadness, we announce the passing of Mary Potts-Spry.
Mary passed with family by her side at Bowmanville Hospital May 12 2024 after a long battle with diabetes.
Beloved wife of the late James Spry. She will be deeply missed by her daughter Ashley.
Beloved sister of Lynda Clark, Tom and Rena Potts, Delbert and Susan Potts, Bill and Kim Potts. Loving aunt for many nieces, nephews ,great-nieces and nephews and great great- nieces and nephews.
Beloved daughter-in-law of Betty and the late Roy Spry. Sister-in-law to John Spry, Elizabeth and Hugh Chandler, Margaret Cross, Susan and Rick Lovekin ,Rosemary Spry and life time friend John Johnston.
A visitation will be held at Northcutt Elliott Funeral Home, Bowmanville on Friday May 24, 2024 from 1-2pm with a celebration of life to follow at 2pm in the funeral home chapel. Cremation has taken place, and burial will be held at Bethesda cemetery at a later date.

Passed away peacefully on May 10th, 2024 at Fosterbrooke at the age of 90.
Beloved wife of the late Ray Armitage.
Loving mother of Mary-Ann Maye (Terry), Karen Clugston (Rick), the late Jane MacDonald (Albert), the late Garnet (survived by Barbie LeBlanc) and the late Stephen.

She is survived by her beloved husband Manuel Almeida.

Michelle May Myatt
On Saturday, May 4, 2024 at the Lakeridge Health Centre in Port Perry, Michelle Myatt, age 68, of Blackstock passed suddenly from this world surround by family.
Mick was the loving daughter of the late Wendall and Elizabeth Myatt.
She is survived by her loving brother
Mick will also be remembered fondly and missed by her aunts, cousins and friends. Michelle was a much valued and long term employee of BMO.
The family of Michelle Myatt will receive friends at the Wagg funeral home, Port Perry on Wednesday, May 8, 2024 from 10 – 11 a.m. A Service to celebrate her life will be held in the Chapel at 11 a.m. There will be an internment immediately following the service in Whitby.

Margaret Ann Mae Barber
Unexpectedly, yet peacefully, passed away on Friday, May 3, 2024 at Kingston Health Sciences Centre, in her 90th year.
Predeceased by her first husband Bill Barber (1990) and survived by her second husband Les Fickling.
Beloved Mom of William Barber (Sherry) and Christine Van Hees (Harry).
Cherished Gram of Leslie, Will, Heather, and Gregory (Judy).
Fondly remembered by her step-children Lisa Smith (Stephen) and Michael Fickling and her step-grandchildren Patrick, Derek, and Angela. Predeceased by her brothers James, Harry, and Harvey.
Margaret was very active within her community. She volunteered her time with Meals on Wheels, the local food bank in Bridgenorth, enjoying yard sales at Bridgenorth United Church and in her spare time knitting prayer shawls.
She was Past President of the United Church Women at St. Stephens United Church, Oshawa, and was a long-time member of the Rebekah Lodges in Oshawa, Peterborough and Cobourg.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 9, 2024 from 4-8 p.m. at ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME (124 King St. E., Oshawa). A Funeral Service will take place on Friday, May 10, 2024 at 12 p.m.
