Ernest Richard Spencer
June 29, 1933 - February 10, 2023
Passed away peacefully on February 10, at Hope Street Terrace, in his 90th year.
Loving father to Thomas Spencer, Norma Flynn and Paul Spencer.
Cherished grandfather of Thomas Spencer, Charlene Packer, Katie Packer, and Jessica Ballinger-Spencer. Cherished by his great-grandchildren, he will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by all of his extended family and friends.
In keeping with Ernest's wishes, there will not be a formal funeral service.
Instead, a celebration of Ernest's life for his friends in Florida will take place in March, and burial will be held at Bond Head Cemetery at a later date.
If desired, donations in memory of Ernest to the Canadian Cancer Society are greatly appreciated by his family.
Eugene Errington Chong
It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Eugene Chong on Saturday, February 11th, 2023 at the age of 75.
Loving husband of the late Gloria Graham Chong.
Cherished father of Sean (the late Lisa) Chong, Dale (Izzah) Chong and Jamie Chong (Danae). Proud grandpa of Chandela, Brandon, Alyssa, Daleah, Spencer and Ethan.
Dear brother of Ansel (Pauline). He will be greatly missed by nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
A visitation will take place on Thursday, February 23rd from 11:00a.m. to 1:00p.m at Mount Lawn Funeral Home and Cemetery, 21 Garrard Road in Whitby, ON with a service to follow at 1:00p.m. in the chapel.

Emanuel “Mannie” Kolchagoff
August 5, 1945 - February 10, 2023
Passed away Friday February 10, 2023.
He is survived by his wife Marilyn, step-daughter Donna-Marie, and daughter Cheri-Lynn, as well as 5 grandsons.
A Memorial service will be held at the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME Oshawa, on Tuesday February 21st, 2023.
Visitation will be held from 12pm until 2pm, with the memorial service at 2pm.

Beloved wife of the late Claude Morgan. Predeceased by her parents Ralph and Nora (née Hunter) Babcock.
Loving mother of Judith Ann Villenuve (David), Sandra Kopp (Bob), John Morgan (Patricia), Joanne Jenne (Wesley), and Robert Morgan (Sharon).
Much loved Gramma of 10 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
Dear sister of Helen Smith (Garnet deceased), Lorna McFadden (Keith Broad) (Leonard deceased), and Jerry Babcock (Mary). Sister-in-law of Garry Proctor.

Emilia loved to have fun.
She had a laughter that was infectious, and was loved by all who knew her.

1930 - 2023
Betty passed away on Sunday February 5, 2023 at Lakeridge Health Ajax.
Predeceased by beloved husband John.
Will be dearly missed by daughters Anne Wibberley (Jim) and Gail Whitfield (Peter) and grandkids Gregory (Beesan), Megan (Adrian) and Jessica (Jeff), adored great granddaughter Olive and niece Lee Penney in Ontario.
Also survived by three brothers and a sister and many nieces and nephews in Newfoundland and Labrador. She was a good friend to many but at 92 years young sadly outlived most.
She loved to play cards, chat on the phone or visit in person whenever possible. She spent the last 4 years at Chartwell City Centre where she enjoyed most every activity and made new friends. She said just a few weeks ago that she had a wonderful life and she truly meant it.
The family would like to thank the nurses and doctors at Lakeridge Health Ajax for their excellent care.

FEBRUARY 7, 1939 – JANUARY 31, 2023
Passed away at home with family by her side on Tuesday, January 31st, 2023, in her 84th year.
Dearly beloved wife of Alberto for 58 years. Loving mother of Carlos and his wife Delfina.
Cherished Avó of Christopher, Jason and Nicholas. Dear sister of Rosa Gomes and predeceased by Maria, Lela, Manuel and Alfredo. She will be missed by many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Ermelinda will be remembered for being a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who cherished her family above all else.
She loved her garden and enjoyed vacationing and visiting family in Portugal, as well as spending the summer weekends at the cottage.
Visitation will be held at the OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West (905-721-1234) on Friday, February 3rd from 4 – 8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, February 4th at HOLY CROSS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 373 Simcoe St. S., Oshawa at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery.

Elizabeth Marie (Betty) Metcalfe
February 2nd, 1951 - January 29th, 2023
After fighting valiantly, having many issues with her health, Betty passed away at the age of 71.
She was surrounded by family and friends. With great sadness, there will be no more texts, calls, or visits with Betty, however as in life, so too in death will she make us smile and laugh as we remember her.
We take comfort knowing she is reunited with her late husband Ronald Metcalfe, mother Anne Sarnovsky, and Aunt Jeanne among other loved ones in Heaven. Betty leaves behind a son, Brent, and grandchildren, Zack, and Leesha. She loved them dearly and as they did with her.
She also leaves behind a brother, David, sister-in-law, Joyce, and nieces: Eva, Reina, and Liara. Her love for them and theirs for her is immeasurable and will never die. She will be missed by her uncles, aunts, cousins, in-laws, and many friends especially the Burns family (Mary, Michelle, Lisa, and Karen-Anne) and the Hall’s family (Florence).
Those who make you smile in this world, and are genuine, honest, unselfish, giving, altruistic, and kind-hearted, are rare. Now, even more so. Until we meet again.
In God’s hands now, rest peacefully.
