We are saddened to announce that Donald Alexander McKercher passed peacefully in his sleep on November 18, 2023, at the age of 84.

Don is survived by his best friend and beloved wife of 52 years, Ingrid McKercher, his daughter who he loved immensely, Daddy’s girl Alison (Michael) Adamowicz, and his brother Ian (Amelia) McKercher of Ottawa. He was proud grandpa of Nolan and Andrew his boys, and loving uncle to Alex and Jay.

Don will also be missed by cousins, extended family and friends.

Don had an infectious good humour. He cherished his family and friends and enjoyed celebrations of all kinds, as well as the outdoors and traveling.

He dedicated himself to hundreds of students during his 30-year teaching career. He took pride in the two cottages he built in Muskoka.

As Don would say, Is it Cocktail hour yet? Cheers!

There will be no public visitations or funeral. A celebration of life will occur in the spring at the cottage.

Will be missed by family members Justin Siebler and his wife Mellissa, Katlyn Siebler.

After a long struggle with COPD, Denise Eileen Waghorn, 82, of Oshawa, ON, passed away peacefully in her sleep on November 6, 2023 at Lakeridge Hospital in Oshawa.

Denise was the oldest of nine children, born on January 18, 1941 in Hull, QC to Raymond Boivin and Pierrette (Charette) Boivin.

She grew up in Oshawa, ON and attended Holy Cross Catholic School; a favourite activity was competitive softball. Denise married Joseph Malinowski in 1964 and they had three children.

The family resided in Scarborough and Beaverton. Over the course of her life, Denise worked at the Oshawa PUC, Burroughs / Unisys, and the Explorer RV Club.

After Joe's death in 2012, Denise married Paul Waghorn in 2014. Denise is survived by her three children Stephen Malinowski (Ruth), Jason Malinowski (Andrea) and Susan Grace (Bill). She is also survived by her four grandchildren Joseph and William (Malinowski), Daniel and Samuel (Grace).

Seven of Denise's siblings also survive her: Richard (Dianne), Lynda Reynolds (Brian), Ted (Wanda), Alan (Bobbie), John (Jackie), Ron, Mike (Carolyn). Paul's six children also survive Denise: Kim, Sarah, Brad, Shelley, Cindy, Paul Jr. Denise was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Joe (2012), her brother Marcel Boivin (2022), and her second husband Paul (January, 2023).

Visitation will be held at THORNTON CEMETERY and FUNERAL CENTRE, 1200 Thornton Road North, Oshawa, (South of Taunton Road and off of Dryden Blvd, 905-579-6787) on Monday, November 20 from 6 to 9 pm.

Funeral services will be on Tuesday, November 21 at 11 am in the chapel. Interment will follow at a later date at St. Mary's Cemetery in Lindsay, ON.

Donations will be gratefully accepted for Canadian Lung Association.

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Dave McGill on November 9, 2023, at the age of 80.

At St. Michaels Trauma NICU, with his loving wife by his side, Dave passed as the result of a tragic accident.

He leaves behind his adoring wife Janet, his loving Son Dean (Jennifer), his brother Brian, step-sons Jay (Tracy) and Shawn (Tamara) Larocque.

He will be missed by grandchildren Jennifer, Devon, Charlotte and two great grandchildren.

His dogs Rocky and Piper will forever hold his compassion for them in their hearts.

Predeceased by his late wife Heather, brother Paul and parents Wanda and Jack .

Aside from a 35 year career at General Motors where he represented, taught and mentored many, he enjoyed a 25 year retirement where he was able to golf, travel and enjoy the sunshine.

Dave is missed by hundreds of friends, especially his buddies at the Waltzing Weasel where the daily meeting was held, to repeat the same stories and lies.

As per Dave’s wishes, there will be no service.

A visitation will take place at the Waltzing Weasel on Thursday November 16 from 12-4.

Donnie was the cherished husband of Lyn (Horton) for 51 years.

Loving father of Richard and Steven.

Brother of Bud, Ann (John) and Donnalee (Pat). He will be remembered by his nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.

Donnie loved the outdoors enjoying hunting, fishing, snowmobile and side- by- side rides.

Visitation will be held at the Mangan Funeral Home on Wednesday November 15th from 11a.m-1p.m.

A celebration of life will follow at the Beaverton Legion from 1-4p.m.

In lieu of flowers donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.

Passed peacefully on the evening of November 5, 2023.

A quiet, gentle person in life, her immediate family, daughters Maxine (Brian and grandson Ryan) and Sheilagh (Darryll) while grieving, are left with many happy memories.

Dulcie also leaves brother Errol, friends Winston and Maud, several nieces and nephews, and friends from church.

At the family’s request, cremation and a private celebration of life have taken place.

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Doris Midlige on November 2, 2023, at the age of 99.

Beloved wife of the late William (Bill) Midlige (2000).

Loving mother of Linda (predeceased 1981), Norma (John predeceased 2019) and John (Marilyn).

Proud grandmother of Christina, Charlene, Stephen (Caitlin) and Michelle (Cody).

Great grandmother to Tristan, Tyron, Isaiah, Camron, Liam and Lucas.

Doris (famously known to the family as GG) was an avid sports fan and card player. We will miss her wit, sense of humour and jokes.

She enjoyed visits from her grandchildren and great children and took pleasure in chatting and joking with them.

Doris was a special woman who was kind and generous to the end.

Special thanks to the staff at Orchard Villa Nursing Home for their kind and compassionate care during Doris’ final days.

In keeping with Doris wishes, cremation will take place, followed by a private family graveside service.

David is survived by his four children, Christina (Matthew), James, Mitchell and Nicole; mother of his children, Anne Marie; grandchildren, Mason and Brooke; loving partner, Chantale Johannson and her children, Noah and Elijah; siblings, Michael (Sandra), Mark (Heather), Donna (John) and Maria (Craig); a large extended family and many friends.

David was truly there whenever you needed him, hardworking, always willing to lend a hand, smart, funny, had a big heart and loved his family.

He put in a proud 35 years of service with the Toronto Police. He will be missed by many.

Its not goodbye, but see you soon.

Family and friends are welcome to gather at McEachnie Funeral Home, 28 Old Kingston Road, Pickering Village, on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. On Thursday, November 9, 2023, everyone is welcome to gather with the family from 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. with a funeral service beginning at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel. A private cremation will be held.
