It is with great sadness to announce the passing of Julie Marjory Timms at 81 years of age from Oshawa Ontario.
Julie passed peacefully surrounded by family and love on Dec 5th, 2023 in the Oshawa Hospital.
Julie was born on Sept 18th, 1942 and was predeceased by her parents Marjory and Harry Taylor.
She was also predeceased by her husband Fredrick Timms, daughter Heather Timms and grandson Joey Maw.
Julie is survived by her sister Wendy VanRaay, and her four children Karen Samson, Laurie Nagle, Robert Timms, and Bonnie Sheppard, as well as her grandchildren David, Danny, Shannon, Katie, Laura, James, Karley, Jonathan, Heather, Taylor and 28 great grandchildren.
Visitation will take place at COURTICE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 1587 Hwy #2, Courtice on Monday Dec 11th from 2 - 4 p.m. and 6 - 8 p.m. Funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Tuesday Dec 12th at 10:30 a.m.
Family only to attend burial. A celebration of her amazing life will be at 2 p.m. on Tuesday Dec 12th, at the Oshawa Legion, 471 Simcoe Street South, Oshawa.
Requests for any donations to be made to Simcoe Street Settlement House food bank, where Julie spent many years as a volunteer.
John Hills passed away peacefully on Sunday December 3, 2023 at Ross Memorial Hospital in Lindsay Ontario.
We are grateful to his medical team for their kindness and care.
John was born February 16, 1945, one of seven children to Kenneth and Viola Hills (Ted, Eric, Gwen, John, Don, Janet and Jerry) in Orono, Ontario.
He enjoyed the company of his siblings throughout his life. John attended Clarke High School and worked a number of jobs before he found his career as Production Foreman at St. Mary’s Cement in Bowmanville, Ontario.
John retired early in the year 2000 but he wasn’t idle. He volunteered regularly for the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters and did trail restoration through the Ontario Federation of Snowmobilers Club.
He was also active in the South Central Ontario Big Game Association where he did deer rescue. John was most proud of his volunteer service to the Canadian Blood Services. He donated blood 147 times and was recently recognized for this life giving service.
John was a proud father to his son Ron (Shawn), grandfather to Zac (Jackie), Olivia (Tyler) and Simon, great-grandfather to Ava and he was looking forward to the arrival of two more great-granddaughters in 2024.
John was predeceased by his parents, brother Jerry, sister Janet and brother Ted.
A celebration of life will be held at Morris Funeral Chapel in Bowmanville on Friday December 15, 2023. Visitation from 11am-1pm, short service at 1pm with a reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Canadian Blood Services at blood.ca in his name .
Passed away peacefully at Hillsdale Terraces, on December 2, 2023 in her 94th year.
Beloved wife of the late Frederick for 63 years.
Cherished mother to Joyce (the late Bruce), Paul (Alana), Ed, Mark (Gisele) and Ken (Julie). Proud grandmother to 11 grandchildren and great-grandmother to 11.
Joyce was born September 1, 1930 in Coventry, England.
She married Frederick Andrews on September 6, 1951 and they spent the next 63 years together.
Joyce was an avid bridge player and gardener and loved travel, knitting, and the company of family.
Joyce's family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the wonderful staff at Hillsdale Terraces for the care and compassion they provided to her during her last days.
Friends may call for visitation on Monday, December 11 at Morris Funeral Chapel, (4 Division St., Bowmanville) from 12PM until time of service in the funeral home chapel at 1PM.

Passed away at the Village of Taunton Mills on Thursday November 30th, 2023 at the age of 82.
Much loved husband of Linda Moore for 57 years.
Much loved Dad of Karen Dilley and her husband Shawn and Lesley Steele and her husband Sam.
Cherished grandfather of Jake, Kathleen, Thomas and Victoria.
Brother-In-law of Bob Parks and Fred Parks and his wife Holly.
Remembered by his nephews Wilson and Harrison.
A Celebration of Life reception will be held Monday, December 4th, 2023, anytime between 2:00 – 4:00 pm at BARNES MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 5295 Thickson Road North, Whitby, ON.
A private interment will take place at GROVESIDE CEMETERY, Whitby at a later date.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of John George Brandauer on December 1st, 2023, surrounded by his loved ones.
John was born in Niagara Falls, Ontario on July 18th, 1953.
John was the loving and devoted husband of Pam. Predeceased by his parents Barbara and Ferdinand, and his sister Ursula (Hal). Beloved brother of Margaret (Ken), Barbara (Bob), Linda, and David (Nancy).
Cherished father of Brett (Kandas), Candace, and Colin (Ashley). Proud grandfather of Hannah, Eastyn, Peyton, Tyson, Arya, Atlas, and Karson.
Also, proud great-grandfather of Beau.
John retired after working over 35 years at General Motors.
John was strong willed and stubborn at times, but he also had an enormous heart and wonderful sense of humor. He was generous, loyal, and brave. He was clever and full to the brim with knowledge gained through all his life experiences. He could fix or build anything.
He built his own home all while working full time and raising three beautiful children. He will be remembered for all the wisdom and heart he shared with his friends and family. He truly loved each of them - and if you knew him, you knew it.
When his time came, he carried himself with dignity and strength.
He will be missed dearly, and he will forever be in our hearts. In typical John fashion, there are no funeral services planned.
A celebration of life will be determined.

Passed away quietly with family by his side at Bradford Valley Care Community on Wednesday November 29, 2023 at the age of 82 years.
Loving husband of 56 years to Jean (nee Brown).
Lovingly remembered by his brothers Glenn and Rod and his sisters-in-law Pat Crawford, Betty Brown and Barb Hooper.
A fun and loving uncle, Uncle Jay (Hoop) will always hold a particularly special place in the hearts of his many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
They will forever be in awe of his ability to regularly earn Turkey of the Year Award at the Brown/Clark family Thanksgivings. His pranks, frequent trips for ice cream and lessons about the farm and life will never be forgotten.
A well-respected educator, he will be fondly remembered by former colleagues and students from Thornlea, Thornhill, Stouffville and Dr. G. W. Williams Secondary Schools.
A truly great friend and neighbour who was always willing to help, the 5th Concession will not be the same without him.
Loved and missed, but grateful that he, a man of faith, is at peace.

It is with great sadness and loving hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Jane Hartjes.
Jane passed away on November 26, 2023. She will be dearly missed by all of her family.
Cherished wife of John, proud mother to her son and daughter.
Jane will be missed by her four grandchildren.
Jane was the daughter of Anthony(deceased) and Mechelina(deceased).
She is greatly loved by her three sisters and four brothers. Jane bravely immigrated to Canada with her family after enduring many struggles in WWII.
She worked for 14 years as a personal support worker for adults with special needs. After having children, Jane chose to devote her time to them.
She drove them both to countless soccer and hockey events and donated copious amounts of volunteer time to assist in building the Pickering Village Soccer Club.
Jane also went on to work for the Durham Catholic District School Board for many years. She was a dedicated, determined and dependable person.
Post retirement Jane and John spent years travelling to many places in the United States, the Caribbean and South America. She had so many fond memories and travel adventures she loves to talk about.
Passed away peacefully at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Sunday November 26th, 2023 at the age of 86 years.
Dear husband of Laurel Beyeler-Ashworth and predeceased by his beloved wife Amelia.
Loving father of Amelia Marie Ashworth (Rod Sauder), Christopher Ashworth (Christine), Martin Ashworth and Timothy Ashworth (Kimberley).

James was predeceased by his sister Eileen Hopkinson.

Visitation will be held at Northcutt Elliott Funeral Home, 53 Division Street North Bowmanville on Friday December 1st from 12 – 1 pm with a Memorial Service to follow in the Chapel at 1 pm.
