Betty will be lovingly remembered by many family and friends.

Betty’s favourite things in life were her family. Time spent with them were her greatest past times, passions and accomplishments. Making wonderful memories to cherish forever.

Visitation will be held on Thursday June 8th from 6pm to 8pm at ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME , 124 King Street East, Oshawa. The Funeral Service is on Friday June 9th at 11am in the Armstrong Chapel.

Dearly beloved wife of Tony for 51 years.

Cherished Nanny of Michael Moreau and Maria Grace Moreau.

Survived by her siblings Donna Delaney (Dave Butt), Debbie Garland, Doreen McFarlane (Gary Barton), Christine Webber (Randy), Fred Stead (Edna) and Carol Stead. Predeceased by her mother Mary Lynch, and her siblings Phil Stead, Charles “Bob” Stead, Jim Garland and Ed Delaney.

Brenda will be missed by her many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends. She will be remembered for her service and dedication to her country, community and family.

Having served 16 years in the Canadian Armed Forces and spending her remaining years providing endless love and support to all who were blessed to know her. Her strength and compassion will remain forever engraved in our hearts.

Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 17th, from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. at the Whitby Yacht Club (701 Gordon St, Whitby L1N 5S4).

With profound sadness, that the Family announces Mom's peaceful passing on May 25th with her family surrounding her.

Born & raised in Nova Scotia, Barbara one of 11 children came to live in Ontario with husband Donald Thom.

Here she raised four children and made a multitude of friends.

Barbara worked for many years at Burns Jewellers downtown Oshawa then on to manage Kern's Jewellery Store in the Midtown Mall Oshawa for decades.

Barbara is survived by her children Deb Miller (Cliff), Gord Thom (Mary), Sandie Kraft (David deceased) and Jamie Thom (Alice).

Grandchildren, Trisha, Juliana, Paul, Caroline, Catherine, Lizzy, Duell, Cory, Ryan, and Kristen, great-grandchildren Chanelle, Josh, Malcolm, Ruby, Denim, Areianna, Jack and Lily and great-great-grandchildren Lisa & Paisley.

Also survived by her brother Lloyd Ritchie (Sharon) and Mom’s Beloved sister and Best Friend Emma Creese (Mom’s other pea in her pod) with whom Mom spoke with every other day!

Mom will be missed immensely by her Dear Friends Donna Skinner and Mark Simmonds.

Predeceased by Donald Thom husband of 30 years and Garry Pettit.

Life Partner of 31 years.

Barbara is resting at Armstrong Funeral Home where cremation will take place and at the request of our Mother, there will be no visitation and a private family Celebration of Life at a later date.

It is with our deepest sorrow that we inform you of the death of our Beloved, Barry William Makos.

Barry passed away suddenly at home with family by his side in the late evening of Friday May 26th, 2023, at the age of 60.

He was the cherished Husband to Michelle Makos and adoring Father to his children Tyler (Jaime) and Chantale (Shawn). Loving Grandfather to Brayden.

He loved our family dogs, Carly, Roxy & Molly.

Barry was predeceased by his Mother & Father, Ken and Joyce Makos and his two brothers, Brian and Bruce Makos. He will be sadly missed by his many friends and family as well as the IUEC Local #50 community.

A candle that burns twice as bright, burns for half as long.

We know that Barry’s light was bright and true to his family. We know that his light will continue to guide us through dark days and that his legacy lives on through all of us.

William ‘Bill’ Ernest Harper of Listowel for the past 13 years, and formerly of R.R.3, Pontypool, for 57 years, passed away at Wingham Hospital on Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at the age of 89.

Survived by his partner Beverley (Smith) Harper. Father of Debbie Evans of Quesnel, B.C. Grandfather of Robert Evans of Edmonton, AB., Patricia and Heath Turcotte of 150 Mile House, B.C., and Andrew (Will) Harper of Quesnel, B.C. Great-grandfather of Braiden Evans of Whitehorse, Kaleb Evans of Chestermere, AB., Zachary Moller of Quesnel B.C., Dalton Evans of Kamloops. B.C., and Peregrine Schroeder of Quesnel B.C.

Dearly loved by his twin sister Barbara Clark and her husband Bill of Dorset, sister-in-law Donna Dempsey and husband Fred of Newtonville, and by his many nieces and nephews.

Fondly remembered by Bev’s family: her sons Brant Harper of Listowel, and Graham Harper and wife Heather of Orillia and their son Hayden, brother Lloyd Smith and wife Joyce of Comox, B.C., sisters Yvonne Dubois and Marilyn Bennett, cousins Nancilee Clausius and Archie Gilbert, and June Smith, all of London.

Predeceased by his wife Wilma Harper, son Ronald, daughter Patricia, sister Edith Turner, and by his son-in-law Walter Evans.

Bill grew up on Brenton Street, East York, Ontario. He served in the Armed Forces for 3 years from 1951-1954, with 2 years in Germany with the 27th brigade. On March 3, 1957, he married Wilma May Wilson. She passed away in 2007.

Bill was more than another long-time employee of the General Motors plant in Oshawa, Ontario for the 39 years he worked there.

The family is especially thankful to Stephen & Darlene Thompson for all of their help.

Private family arrangements with the Eaton Funeral Home, Listowel. Interment will be held in Fallis Cemetery, Bethany, Ontario.
