“Lawd Jesus”… we can’t believe she’s gone! Anyone who knew Mom will know that “Lawd Jesus” was her all-time favourite thing to say.
Surrounded by family and lots of love, we said goodbye to Mom on February 11, 2021.
Born and raised in Jamaica, Mom immigrated to Canada in 1953, but held on to her Jamaican accent and roots until the end. A wonderful wife, Mom (not only to her children, but to the ones she “adopted”), Aunt, Sister, Gramma and GG. She was predeceased by her husband Keith and will be greatly missed by her children Greg (Colleen), Kathi (Jean), Sandy (Frank), Karen (Michael), Paula (Mark) and Michelle (Jack) and special “surrogate son” Warren and "surrogate daughter" Janet.
Blessed and proud Gramma and GG to 11 grandchildren (Ryan, Nicole, Kiel, Tawnya, Kaylin, Lisa, Michael, Dylan, Jordan, Cody and Alexandra) and 6 great-grandchildren (Preslee, Teagan, Gavin, Quinn, Cayden and Sloane). Survived by her sisters, Isobel (Maryland) and Tillie (Jamaica), her many nieces and nephews in Ontario, United States and Jamaica.
She was definitely one-of-a-kind. Tough, stubborn and opinionated – she was all that and more.
We will take comfort in our never-ending Mom stories that will continue to make us laugh and keep her memory alive and know that Mom hasn’t really left us – she’s just keeping watch from a different place and will be with us forever.
We love you Mom.
Arrangements with McEachnie Funeral Home. Those wishing to celebrate Mom’s life can make a donation in her honour to the charity of your choice.
Peacefully after a short illness on Wednesday, February 11, 2021, at the Lakeridge Health Centre in Oshawa, at age 87.

Loved father of Joe (Ellen), Nelson (Darlene), Tony, and Mike (Sue).
