Peacefully with his family by his side at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Sunday August 27, 2023 at 88 years of age.
Beloved husband of the late Marion. Loving father of William (Marilyn), Robert (Debbie) and Chuck (Wanda).
Cherished Grandpa of Erinn, Michelle, Marcus, Krissy, Kent, Erica and 6 great grandchildren.
Donald will be fondly remembered by his extended family and friends.

Debra (nee Smith) Maw
Passed peacefully at Toronto Western Hospital, surrounded by the love of family, on August 26 at the age of 53.
Beloved wife of Tim for 30 years.
Loving mother to Zack(Nicole) and Alex(Braden).
Cherished daughter of Pat and the late John Smith. Much loved sister to Connie(Joe), Perry(Tamara), and Steve(Laura).
Dearly missed by her parents-in-law, Charlie and Lynda, and brother-in-law Dan(Denise). Debra will be fondly remembered by all of her extended family and friends.
A celebration of Debra's life will be held on Monday, September 4 from 2-5pm at the Lindsay Rugby Club (67 Vince Jones Rd./Dance Hall Rd./Greenway Rd., Lindsay), with a toast to Debra and sharing of memories at 3pm.

Diana Low
1961 - 2023
Diana was a very strong woman. After a courageous battle with Cancer and fighting her hardest, she met our Lord August 22nd, 2023.
She is pre-deceased by her Mother Annette, father Roger, and sister Elaine.
She leaves behind her loving Soulmate Paul.
Her cherished children: Son Justin and Daughter in law Morgan, Daughter Terri-Lynn (and Don), and Son Julien.
Her beloved grand children Tommy, Madison, and Xavier. Loving brother Paul and sister in law Mary-Anne Guilbert.
Brother and sister in law Allan and Cindy Low, and sister and brother in law Darleen and Lorne to name a few.
In addition there are a multitude of loving nephews and nieces.
In her 30 years of being a daycare provider, she touched the hearts and lives of entire generations of children. She treated all of them as if they were her own.
She continued her business through chemo until she was no longer able. Her influence is obvious in those she touched by anyone who knew her.
We would like to thank very much the Oshawa Cancer Center; Doctor Shim, Nurse Lisa, Doctor Wang, Palliative Care Nurses Dean and Cassandra.
Also the many PSW’s who helped us through this process.
A Celbration of Life will be held at the DeStefano Funeral Home, 1289 Keith Ross Drive in Oshawa on Wednesday August 30th from 6:00pm to 9:00pm.

Donald Hinton
As many of you know Don has been ill for quite sometime. He has been battling his illness for many years.
It is with a heavy heart that we let everyone else who loved him know that on Monday, August 21, 2023 at 12:10 a.m. Don passed away with his family surrounding him.
Don was the beloved husband of Helen (nee Payton) for 45 years.
Loving father of Karen (Vince) Zerafa, Kimberly (Brian) Gerrie and David (Amanda) Hinton.
Cherished Grandpa of Sophia; Ethan and Evan; Emelia, Lia and Noah. He will be remembered by his son Mike (Alicia) Holownych and his family. Don is survived by his sister Carol (Ron) Davis, brother Bob (Mary) Hinton and will be remembered by his nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at the Mount Lawn Funeral Home & Cemetery, 21 Garrard Road, Whitby, on Friday, September 1, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. until time of Service in the Chapel at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at MOUNT LAWN CEMETERY .
In lieu of flowers memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.

May 31, 1929 - August 17, 2023

Passed away peacefully in his sleep on Thursday August 17th, 2023 at Lakeridge Health Ajax.
Don, in his 95th year, was predeceased by his beloved wife Beryl in 2008.
Predeceased by his parents Leslie & Agnes Gorrie.
Cherished Father of Kristine Nash (Chris Neshevich) and the late Thomas Sinclair.
Adored Pop Pop of Nicole (Brian) and Maddison (Matt).
Great Pop Pop Pop of Bowie & Via.
Dear brother of Jean Moore (the late Gerry Ginn & the late Tom Moore), Alan (Carol) and predeceased by Robert & Ross (the late Beryl).
Don will be lovingly remembered by all of his extended family, many friends and business colleagues, and his “family” at
Don was a proud retiree of General Motors who retired from the Accounting Division after 44 years of service.
Don was a kind, gentle, caring, strong, funny, helpful, wonderful person who never was idle. His quick wit and incredible sense of humor were legendary and always present. Don loved his family and enjoyed spending all his time with them.
He was profoundly proud of his entire family and was anxiously awaiting another great grandchild to be born later this year.
In his later years he liked to keep busy at the family restaurant, The Brock House, and became a daily fixture known as “The Don”. As “Director of Property Management” He could be found up a ladder changing the sign, cutting the grass, tending the 1000 sq foot vegetable garden, shoveling the snow, cleaning the parking lot and enjoying a wonderful lunch with his restaurant family. He enjoyed a wonderful life and was incredibly active up until this year when his health began to fail.
The family would like to invite you to join with them for a Celebration of Don’s Life at his “home away from home” - The Brock House on Aug 29 at 4pm. 918 Brock St N, Whitby.
A Private Family Service and Cremation has taken place. A Private Family Interment of Ashes will take place at a later date.
Don served as Treasurer at Simcoe Hall Settlement House for many years. It was his wish that any donations be directed to his granddaughter Nicole (nicole@roots2rise.ca) to purchase food (canned and fresh take-a-way), and also to purchase toys for children at SHSH and The Denise House for this Christmas.

Doreen Bakker
1937 – 2023
Doreen (Derkje) Bakker passed away quietly on August 10th, 2023, at home with her family by her side to be with her Lord and Saviour after a brave battle with cancer.
Her strength and positive outlook were an inspiration.
She will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by her family and many friends.
Beloved wife of the late Nick of almost 49 years of marriage and much-loved mother to Jannette (Paul), Doug, Nancy and Helen (Regis).
Oma to grandchildren Jeremy (Vanessa), Rachel, Adam (Amber), Ben, Jasper, Elliott and Antalya and Great-Oma to Arthur and Penelope.
Predeceased by her parents Hendrik Jan and Jantje Meima, brothers Jacob, Andy, Klaas and Piet. Survived by her brother Derk (Roelie), sister Geertje Oosterhuis and sisters-in-law Trieni, Geertje, Sarah DeJong and Sadie Bakker.
Visitation will be held at Northcutt Elliott Funeral Home, 53 Division St. N. Bowmanville on Sunday August 13th from 6 – 8 pm. Funeral Service will be held at REHOBOTH CHRISTIAN REFORMED CHURCH, 130 Scugog Street Bowmanville on Monday August 14th at 11 am. Private Interment.

Dagmar embodied to the fullest what it means to celebrate life.
She loved family and people.
She was compassionate, caring and nurturing.
She was supportive. She enjoyed music. She enjoyed art. She liked dancing.
She always looked for the positive. She spoke her opinion.
She emanated love to those near her.

Peacefully passed away at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on July 30, 2023, at the age of 56.

39 year employee of General Motors Surrounded with love, Danny passed away at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on August 2nd, 2023 at the age of 78 years.

David Emlyn Griffiths Matthews Jr.,
April 16, 1944 - August 2, 2023
At the age of 79, David peacefully passed away with family by his side on August 2, 2023, at Thorntonview Long Term Care.
He was born on April 16, 1944, the third child to David Sr. and Sarah Matthews in Oshawa, Ontario.
Upon graduating high school, David attended an Automotive Trade school to become a mechanic and is best known for owning and operating Matthews Sunoco at the corner of Dundas and Francis Street in Whitby.
David is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Tommy and Arthur, sister Margaret and many friends and relatives.
David lost his beloved second wife, Theresa in 2015.
He is survived by his first wife Lynda, daughters, Diane (Gord), Deborah (Stuart), Donna (Roger), Nicole (Tony), Jennifer (Graham), sisters Irene (late John), Mary (Grant), brother Peter (Hilda), many nieces and nephews, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held at the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME , 124 King Street East, Oshawa, on Thursday August 10th at 1pm. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service time, starting at 12pm.
