Passed away at Thorntonview Long Term Care on Saturday November 6th, 2021 at the age of 86 years.

Beloved wife of the late Kenneth Terry. Dear mother of Doug (Donna), Grant (Sue), Roy (Liz) and Brian (Karen).

Loving grandmother of Tricia, Melissa (Dave), Alanna (Jon), Sean, Nathan, Matthew (Rebecca), Anjela, Justin and Jeremy and she will be sadly missed by her 14 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her sisters Yvonne McQuaid and Barbara Quesnel.

Wynona was a proud member of The Red Hat Society and her Sorority sisters and a long time volunteer with The Terry Fox Foundation, The Cancer Society, The Red Cross and The Bowmanville Eagles.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff at Thorntonview Long Term Care for the wonderful care that our Mother received. You are all amazing and truly caring individuals!

A Private Family Service was held at Bowmanville Cemetery.

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of William “Bill” Larson on November 8th, 2021 just shy of his 80th birthday.

Loving, supportive and jovial father to Holly, Brooke and Brooke’s husband Pat.

Affectionately remembered by Susan, Halina, his brother Lou and his good friend Joan. Dear uncle to his nieces and nephews.

Bill was born in Philadelphia, a star track runner, a regular dancer on American Bandstand, an accomplished bridge player, a veteran of the Vietnam war and an excellent snooker player.

He enjoyed his time with his colleagues from Ontario Hydro (OPG).

Bill liked being a part of the Pickering Seniors Club and the Discovery Place Condominium.

We would like to express our deep gratitude to Christiana and her Alexis Lodge staff for their loving care and compassion for Bill.

Donations to the Alzheimer’s Society would be appreciated.

Peacefully on November 6, 2021, in his 96th year, at Lakeridge Health, Oshawa.

Mel was husband to the late Edith, father to Gwen and Melanie, father-in-law to Bill and Matt, grandfather to Alessandra, Bryan, Aidan and Devlen, brother to Bert and in later years companion to Ming.

Predeceased by siblings Bob, Bud and Rena.

Mel was a lifelong resident of Oshawa. Until his recent hospital admission, he lived in the house he built in 1970.

He worked at General Motors for 35 years and had many hobbies including hockey refereeing and coaching children’s sports.

Although he was a hard worker, he always knew how to pace himself, relax and have fun. He flew a Cessna for years, always taking out-of-town guests for a tour of the countryside or Toronto lakefront. He tended and enjoyed his pool into his seventies, golfed into his mid-eighties and danced into his eighties.

Visitation at ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME (124 King St. E., Oshawa) on Thursday November 11th from 6-8pm. Funeral in the Chapel on Friday, November 12th at 11am.

Burial to follow at MOUNT LAWN CEMETERY.

He leaves behind his wife, Julia, his daughters, and their families.

Bill will always be remembered for his deep faith and his commitment to his church.

He loved to entertain others with the stories of his past and was known for his dad jokes.

Bill was born in Victoria, BC.

During the war he was stationed on the east coast and then settled in Montreal where he worked at Bell Canada for 37 years.

In his spare time Bill loved to garden and he inspired others with his handyman skills.

He was a wonderful man who will be missed by us all.

Although our hearts are filled with gratitude for the gift of her life, it is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Weronika Dobranowski, née Horbacewicz.

She died peacefully at Copernicus Lodge on October 30, 2021 in her 97th year surrounded by loved ones.

Weronika was a loving mother to Aleksandra, Anthony (Janice), Julian Jr. (Jolanta), Richard (Sandra) and Catharine (Greg Barnes).

She was a beloved grandmother to her thirteen grandchildren - Michelle (Sean), Alexis (Jamie), Sarah (Joel), Alicia (Paul), Magdalena (Marek), Alexander (Jennifer), Kristin (Brett), Michael (Rachel), Laura, Mark, Andrew, Alex and Caroline and her nine great-grandchildren - Declan, Niamh, James, Tomas, Ania, Sophie, Mireille, Owen and Max.

Weronika is survived by her sister Józefa, her brother Czesław (Zofia) and many nieces and nephews in Canada, along with relatives in Poland and the United States.

Born in Tarasowo, Poland, Weronika lived through deportation to slave labour in Germany, four years in a Displaced Persons’ Camp and emigration to the Brazilian wilderness before settling in Oshawa in 1957 with her family.

She was predeceased by her husband of forty years, Julian Dobranowski; parents Józef and Konstancja Horbacewicz; her sisters Bronisława (Alfons Suchto) and Jadwiga (Władysław Moskalewicz); her brother Jan Horbacewicz (Helena); and brothers in law Franciszek Michno and Bronisław Dobranowski (Barbara).

From among her many qualities, family, neighbours and friends often commented on Weronika’s gentle temperament, her hospitality, her wisdom and her subtle sense of humour.

However, Weronika’s most cherished legacy is her children and their families to whom she lovingly dedicated herself.

The Family is grateful to the staff at Copernicus Lodge who cared for Weronika with kindness, and respect for the last three years of her life, and to Dr. Chopra, her family doctor prior to that.

Family and Friends may call at the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME, 124 King Street East, Oshawa (905-433-4711) on Wednesday November 3rd from 2:00 – 4:00 PM, and from 6:00 – 8:00 PM, with Eulogies at 7:30, followed by prayers with Rev. Klemens Dabrowski.

He was the loving and best Papa to Melissa (Brent), Stephanie (Rob), Brian, Jordan (Mehgan), Andrea (Matthew) and Evan (Katrina). He was blessed to be a Great-Papa to Sophia, Nate, Lila and Grace.

We rejoice that he is with His Lord.
